Look, I’ll be straight with you – A los Jardines del Alcázar is one of those places that makes you feel slightly guilty for having such a good time while everyone else is fighting for tiny hotel rooms in the Barrio Santa Cruz. It’s tucked away on Menéndez y Pelayo in Nervión, which honestly sounds way more intimidating than it actually is. The thing is, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk from the cathedral (20 if you’re dragging luggage), but you’re also in this lovely residential area where actual Sevillanos live and work. I mean, there’s something refreshing about stepping out for coffee and not immediately being surrounded by tourists holding maps upside down.

The hotel itself – well, it’s got that whole “quiet luxury” thing down perfectly. You know how some five-star places try so hard to impress you that everything feels a bit performative? This isn’t that. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which you notice in small ways like how they remember your name after one conversation, or how they’ll actually give you honest restaurant recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the touristy spots. The rooms are spacious in a way that European hotels usually aren’t, and honestly, the beds are fantastic – I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up confused about what day it is. The bathrooms have this lovely marble that stays cool even in Seville’s ridiculous summer heat, and there’s actually decent water pressure, which… if you’ve traveled around Spain much, you’ll appreciate that detail.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to feel connected to the city without being overwhelmed by it. The Alcázar gardens are close enough that you can pop over for an early morning walk before the crowds arrive (seriously, go at 8 AM and thank me later), but you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos of the tourist center. Parking’s actually manageable in this area too – there’s a garage nearby that won’t completely destroy your budget if you’re driving. The neighborhood has some genuinely excellent tapas bars that locals frequent, especially along Avenida de la Constitución when you head toward the center. And you know what? Sometimes it’s nice to end your day somewhere that feels a bit more… normal. Where you can sit in the hotel lounge with a drink and not feel like you’re performing being a tourist. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-desperate, just consistently excellent at the things that actually matter when you’re trying to enjoy a city like Seville.

  What could be improved: Would have liked instructions in English for appliances, TV etc.
  Water went off for 12+ hours due to a fault on the street. Communications weren't very good.

  Good location near the Santa Cruz area which is beautiful. Good communication and helpful host. Very clean and comfortable apartment. It’s on a busy road but still quiet. Train station is about 20 minute walk

  Excellent accommodation, attractions within a 10-15 minute easy walk. Center, restaurants all very close. The host was always available and sent all the explanations regarding the apartment in advance. Simply a perfect ten and definitely a place we will come back to! Among other things, this experience made Seville our favorite stop on our trip!

  The flat is in a good location, I felt very safe and it’s very easy to walk to attractions. In the pictures it shows the flat on the main Road, but the way the flat is placed in the block we were not disturbed at all by noise. The flat was impeccably clean and one of the best equipped apartments I have stayed in. Really liked that the host had a qr code you could scan when you got to the property when had videos uploaded to show you how things worked and also other useful information. The host was also very responsive when we texted and helpful, let us into the property early and texted us a place we could leave our luggage for the day one minute from the property. Feel like the host is someone who has travelled and stayed in places and knows the things that make a stay more pleasant and easy. Great value for money, would absolutely stay again.
