You know what? When I first walked up to Abreu16, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel tucked away on Rafael González Abreu street. I mean, it’s this narrow little street in Seville’s old town that most tourists probably walk right past without noticing – but that actually turns out to be exactly why this place works so well.

The building itself has that perfect Sevillian thing going on where it looks completely unassuming from the outside, then you step through the entrance and suddenly you’re in this gorgeous interior courtyard that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city. The 4-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story here – honestly, it feels more polished than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at, especially considering that 8.9 rating from actual guests (which, let’s be real, is pretty impressive for Seville where travelers tend to have high expectations). The rooms have this nice balance of traditional Andalusian touches without feeling like they’re trying too hard to be authentic, if you know what I mean. And the beds – well, after walking around Seville’s cobblestones all day, you’ll appreciate that they actually invested in decent mattresses.

What really sold me on this place though is the location knowledge you get just by staying here. The staff actually lives in Seville (revolutionary concept, I know), so when they recommend that little tapas place around the corner or tell you the best time to visit the cathedral without dealing with cruise ship crowds, they’re not just reading from some generic script. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the cathedral and Alcázar, but here’s the thing – you’re on a side street that doesn’t get the constant stream of tour groups, so you can actually sleep past 7 AM if you want to. The neighborhood has this perfect mix where you’ll hear genuine Sevillian life happening – kids playing in the evening, neighbors chatting on their balconies – but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you awake. I stayed there during Semana Santa (probably the craziest week to visit Seville) and while the main procession routes were absolutely packed, I could always retreat back to this quiet little street and feel like I had discovered some secret corner of the city. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – but honestly, in Seville’s old town, that’s just part of the experience, and the hotel staff will point you toward the nearest garage that won’t cost you a fortune.

  The location, multiple bathrooms were great. Nice bedding, comfortable beds, lots of space for luggage.
  
  What could be improved: It had some smell from both bathrooms and no ventilation options, not sure how to address it. Washing machine and dishwasher would be great for such bigger apartment.
