Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the AC Hotel Ciudad de Sevilla? It’s one of those places that actually gets the balance right between modern comfort and not trying too hard to be trendy. I mean, when you’re staying on Avenida Manuel Siurot – which honestly isn’t the most charming street name, but hear me out – you’re in this interesting spot where you feel connected to the city without being stuck in the tourist chaos of the old town.
The thing is, this Marriott property sits in the Sur district, and I’ve got to say, it’s actually pretty smart positioning. You’re close enough to walk to the real Seville (we’re talking maybe 15-20 minutes to get to the cathedral area), but you’re also near the university zone where there’s genuine local energy. The hotel itself has that sleek AC Hotels vibe – you know, clean lines, lots of white and dark wood, the kind of lobby where you could actually work on your laptop without feeling weird about it. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star: comfortable beds, decent shower pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Spain), and those floor-to-ceiling windows that make the space feel bigger than it probably is. I particularly liked that they didn’t go overboard with fake Andalusian decorations – sometimes less really is more.
What I found genuinely useful was how the staff seemed to know their stuff about getting around the city. When I asked about the best way to reach the Alcázar without dealing with tourist bus traffic, the front desk guy gave me this route through the Parque de María Luisa that I never would have figured out myself. And honestly, the breakfast setup was better than I expected – not just the usual continental spread, but decent coffee (crucial) and some local touches that felt authentic rather than performative. The pool area up top is small but perfectly fine for cooling off after trudging around Seville in the summer heat, though I’d say it gets pretty busy during peak hours. One minor thing – if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the main avenue since there’s definitely some traffic noise, especially in the mornings. But overall, this place delivers on what it promises: a comfortable, well-run hotel that gives you easy access to everything Seville offers without the premium prices you’d pay closer to the Giralda. At an 8.4 rating, it’s earning those points through solid execution rather than flashy extras, which frankly is exactly what you want when you’re using the hotel as your base for exploring one of Spain’s most captivating cities.

Moises from Spain – 14 May 2025 (9/10)
Easy reservation and fast check in / check out.
Amenities at the reception (local wine); also the usual ones in the bathroom.
King size bed; comfortable & wide bathroom.
Close enough to the city centre (gentle walk – 30').
What could be improved: No complaint. Price was pretty high due to the season (Feria de Sevilla). Didn't go there for the sights, but location is good enough.Victoria from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)
Lovely good size room, comfortable beds, really clean, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Location was slightly out of town centre but with a bus stop a short walk from the hotel that offered a regular service.
What could be improved: Building work meant the pool was closed and construction noise during the day.Zhikai from Netherlands – 23 November 2024 (8/10)
The property is close to the Seville School of Architecture and located within walking distance to all university. The room service is impeccable. I would recommend this for business trip.
What could be improved: It seems slightly overpriced given that the location is not in the historical center. The pool is in heated and you need some courage to use it in November.
I appreciated the receptionist who kindly replaced my originally assigned ground-floor room (which had a slight furniture smell) with one on the second floor. However, there was construction noise from the rooftop every morning.
During my six-night stay, the guests in the neighbouring room talked late into the night, and their conversations were clearly audible.
On checkout day, a different receptionist asked me to pay the invoice again despite my prepayment via booking.com.
Generally, the staff were very helpful and courteous, and my suggestions are meant to help improve the experience to meet 4-star standards. In general, I was satisfied with my stay.Anne from United Kingdom – 20 October 2024 (9/10)
Helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet. Great local tapas bar.
What could be improved: Hotel is not right in the centre. It's a decent walk to the old town, though the terrain is flat.Maria from United States – 19 October 2024 (7/10)
Customer service was awesome.
What could be improved: Location.Robin from Switzerland – 1 October 2024 (8/10)
Beautiful building.
What could be improved: Gym a bit outdated and small. Beds were too firm for my taste and we had a room on the ground floor with a view into a wall.Rachael from Spain – 30 September 2024 (9/10)
The hotel was in an excellent location away from the main hustle of the city, but close enough to walk to. The room was quiet and had everything you would need and a few extras.
What could be improved: There as only one option for breakfast, which was a bit expensive if you only want a coffee and toast. But good value if you wanted more.Nlois from Peru – 1 June 2024 (8/10)
The attention of Raquel
What could be improved: To small the restaurant and no amenitiesJose from United States – 3 May 2024 (8/10)
Good breakfast and restaurant
Robert from United Kingdom – 30 April 2024 (8/10)
Very friendly staff in reception and catering. Lovely spacious clean room. Good sized dining area.
Location was perfect for me, however it is a short taxi/bus ride from the centre.
