You know what struck me first about Acetres 5 Boutique? The fact that you can actually find it – which sounds silly, but honestly, half the hotels tucked into Seville’s old town are basically hidden behind unmarked doors. This one sits right on Calle Acetres, this narrow little street that feels like it hasn’t changed much since, well, probably the 16th century. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the cathedral, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming once you step inside.

The building itself is one of those converted traditional houses that Seville does so well – you walk through this gorgeous entrance with original tiles (the kind that make you want to Instagram everything) into a central courtyard that actually makes you forget you’re in the middle of a busy city. They’ve kept all the character but added these really thoughtful modern touches that don’t feel forced. The rooms are what I’d call “boutique done right” – not trying too hard to be quirky, just comfortable and stylish without being precious about it. Air conditioning that actually works, which trust me, matters a lot when you’re visiting in summer. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for an old building, though you might hear your neighbors occasionally through the walls – it’s that kind of historic construction where sound travels.

What I really appreciated was how the staff knew the neighborhood inside and out. They pointed me toward this little tapas place on Calle Rodrigo Caro that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the tourist crowds at the Alcázar, they told me exactly when to show up (around 2 PM on weekdays, if you’re wondering). The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but they source everything locally and the coffee is legitimately good – not that weak hotel stuff that makes you hunt for the nearest café. Parking is… well, it’s the old town, so forget about parking near the hotel. But there’s a decent public garage about five minutes away, and honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the narrow streets mean you’d be crazy to drive anyway. The whole area gets pretty lively in the evenings – you’ll hear people chatting and laughing on the street below, which I found charming, though light sleepers might want to pack earplugs.

  Great apartment in a great location.
