Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and this duplex on Calle Lumbreras honestly surprised me. You know how some places look amazing in photos but then you walk in and… well, this wasn’t one of those. The moment you step inside, there’s this sense of space that’s rare in the old town – the duplex layout actually means something here, with the bedroom upstairs feeling like a proper retreat from the living area below.
What really got me was the terrace situation. I mean, terraces in Seville’s old quarter are usually these tiny afterthoughts, but this one? You can actually spread out, have your morning coffee without bumping elbows with the building next door. The view isn’t going to make Instagram famous, but it’s got that authentic Seville rooftop thing going on – you’re looking out over real neighborhood life, not tourist central. And honestly, after walking those narrow cobblestone streets all day (your feet will know what I’m talking about), having that outdoor space to decompress is huge.
The location is sort of perfect if you know Seville at all. Calle Lumbreras puts you right in the thick of things without being on one of those streets where tour groups march by at 7 AM. You’re a five-minute walk from the Cathedral – I timed it because I’m that person – but tucked away enough that you’ll actually sleep at night. There’s this little tapas place around the corner that locals go to (can’t remember the name, but it’s the one with the blue tiles), and the morning bakery run is just down the street. Parking though… well, it’s the old town, so either embrace the walk from wherever you find a spot or splurge on the nearby garage.
The duplex itself feels lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, which I actually loved. The kitchen is small but functional – we made breakfast a few times, and everything you need is there. The bathroom upstairs has this quirky slanted ceiling thing that tall people should know about, but the shower pressure is surprisingly solid. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night. For being so central, the soundproofing or just the building’s position blocks out most of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler – it’s Seville, after all.
The whole experience feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a hotel, which is either exactly what you want or completely wrong for your travel style. Check-in was smooth, though they do that thing where they meet you at the property rather than having a traditional front desk. The 9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just really good at what it does. If you’re the type who wants room service and daily housekeeping, look elsewhere. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Seville for a few days, with space to breathe and a location that puts you in the heart of things without the chaos, this place delivers.

Lovely apartment especially nice having the terrace to sit out & relax. The space in the bedroom down spiral staircase was a bit tight. Other than that at everything was excellent 👍

Perfect location away from the buzz of the old town (15 min. walk). Very quiet and safe area, right by Alameda de Hercules. Great terrace. Stayed in the loft for 28 days, no issues whatsoever. Very well equiped kitchen as I cooked most of the times. City buses will take you anywhere in town and to other places like italica or Carmona. Rafa was very attentive and helpfull at all times.

The kitchen/living area was layed out and equipped well. There were lots of extra things like a drying rack for clothes, matches and such. It was cozy for two people.
What could be improved: The description of the property did not prepare us for the treacherous spiral staircase that led to the bedroom and bathroom. Although sturdy it was very difficult to use. I only looked for properties with parking and there was no temporary parking, no street parking and nearby lots were full and $40 euro per day.
