Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Calle Álvarez Quintero – it’s one of those narrow streets in Seville’s old quarter that tourists usually rush past on their way to the cathedral. But Aitana en Alvarez Quintero completely caught me off guard. The entrance is subtle, almost secretive in that way Spanish hotels sometimes are, tucked into a restored building that probably has more history in its walls than most entire neighborhoods back home.
What struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to keep the soul of old Seville while actually making the place comfortable to stay in. You know how some historic hotels feel like museums where you’re afraid to touch anything? This isn’t that. The rooms feel lived-in but luxurious – I mean, the beds are seriously good, and the bathrooms have this perfect balance of modern fixtures with original tile work that probably dates back decades. The whole place has this warm, amber light in the evenings that makes you want to linger in the common areas with a glass of wine. Actually, speaking of location, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also perfectly positioned to slip into the real Seville. There’s this tiny tapas bar called El Rinconcillo just around the corner (it’s supposedly the oldest bar in the city), and the morning coffee crowd at the café across the street will give you a better sense of daily Spanish life than any tour guide ever could.
The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find the best late-night flamenco that isn’t a tourist trap, or which direction to walk if you want to avoid the cruise ship crowds that flood certain streets around midday. I stayed here during April, which is peak season with all the Easter processions, and while everywhere else felt chaotic, this little pocket of Álvarez Quintero stayed surprisingly peaceful. The building’s thick walls mean you won’t hear much street noise, though you will catch the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages in the early morning – which, honestly, isn’t the worst way to wake up. One small thing worth mentioning: parking in this part of town is basically impossible, but they’ll sort you out with directions to a nearby garage that won’t bankrupt you. The whole experience feels like staying at a well-connected friend’s place rather than just another hotel, if that makes sense. With a 9.4 rating, I guess other people figured this out too, so book ahead – especially if you’re coming during Feria or Holy Week when Seville goes completely mad in the best possible way.

It’s very nice and in a great location. Close walk the Cathedral. Lots of shops and restraints near by.
What could be improved: She has parking for €25 a day but it’s a 15 minute walk away. If you’ve not been to Sevilla it’s one of the worst cities in the world to drive in. The apartment is in an alley so you have to drop your bags in the street and leave someone to watch them while you find the lot.Patrick from United States – 13 June 2025 (10/10)

A beautiful apartment situated in the casco antiguo of Sevilla. I visited with my husband and daughter. It is so close to many beautiful plazas, restaurants, the cathedral, museums, tablaos flamencos; it was just perfect.
Although you are in the city centre you would never know it; a very quiet and relaxing apartment awaits you at the end of a busy day sightseeing. The only sound was that of the church bells.
The owner of the flat, Aitana, is very friendly and cannot do enough for you. There is access to a private patio leading from the main bedroom. The shower is very good and the flat is well equipped.
Thank you Aitana – it was a pleasure to stay in your gorgeous apartment. We would love to visit again.
What could be improved: The front door to access the main building and the internal gate can be a bit temperamental to open, but it is a very old building so just be prepared to wiggle the key around a bit and with a bit of patience you'll get there.Robyn from Australia – 2 October 2024 (10/10)

The location was unbeatable. Just down the road is the cathedral, and then around the corner, the Alcazar, less than 10 min walk to the famous bullring and the river. Cafes and vars everywhere around and an added bonus a fabulous flamenco show practically next door. Our host was fantastic too, very communicative and helpful.
