You know what caught me off guard about Alcazar Pool Villa? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street in the Judería that I must have walked past a dozen times before actually noticing the entrance. But honestly, that’s part of the charm – you’re literally staying in Seville’s old Jewish quarter, where the streets are so narrow you can practically touch both walls if you stretch your arms out.

The pool situation here is actually pretty brilliant, and I mean that because finding decent pool access in Seville’s historic center is like finding parking near the Cathedral (spoiler: nearly impossible). The villa itself feels like someone’s wealthy aunt decided to open up her beautifully renovated townhouse to guests. The rooms have this mix of traditional Andalusian tiles and modern touches that somehow works without feeling forced. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – even though you’re walking distance from all the tapas bars on Calle Mateos Gago, the thick walls keep things peaceful. Well, mostly peaceful. You’ll still hear the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages heading to the Cathedral, but honestly that just adds to the atmosphere.

The location is sort of ridiculously perfect if you’re the type who wants to explore on foot. I could literally see the Alcázar gardens from the upper terrace (hence the name, I guess), and the Cathedral bells become your unofficial alarm clock. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – like, really knows it. They pointed me toward this tiny ceramics shop on Calle Reinoso that I never would have found otherwise, and steered me away from the tourist-trap restaurants right by the Alcázar entrance. Parking is… well, let’s just say embrace the walking lifestyle or budget for the public garage near Plaza de la Encarnación. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a fancy resort, but what it does (giving you an authentic base in the heart of historic Seville with that rare luxury of a private pool), it does really well. Just don’t expect room service at midnight or a concierge in a suit. This is more like staying with that well-connected local friend who happens to have excellent taste and a gorgeous house.

  The location was perfect and the house was amazing as well. The outdoor patios are super nice and everything was clean and ready for us. Even though there is only AC in one of the rooms, if you close all the doors and let the AC run, the bedroom floors gets nice and cold.

  The people in charge of the house were very friendly, available and professional. Throughout the process but especially upon our arrival in the city. Great team. The house is very well located, right next to the cathedral.
  
  What could be improved: It is not possible to access it directly by private car or Uber. You must wall a bit with all your luggadge. The house is great but already needs some small repairs, especially in the kitchen and terrace.

  The location is unbeatable. Wonderful to enjoy the pool in the evening listening to nearby guitar and watching peacocks flying to their nests.
  We were very late getting to Seville (after 4 am) but always in touch with hosts and met cheerfully at the property.
