You know what struck me first about Alfalfa Sweet Home? The location is honestly ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally sitting on Plaza de la Alfalfa, which is this tiny, perfectly preserved square that most tourists stumble through without realizing they’re in one of Seville’s most authentic spots. I mean, you’ve got locals grabbing their morning coffee at the corner bar while you’re checking in to what’s technically a five-star place, but it doesn’t feel stuffy at all.

The thing about staying right in the old town like this is that you’re dealing with medieval streets, so forget about pulling up in an Uber – you’ll be walking the last bit with your luggage over cobblestones that have probably been there since before America was discovered. But honestly, once you’re settled in, that’s exactly why this place works so well. You can walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes, hit the Alcázar without breaking a sweat, and – this is key – you’re close enough to all the tapas action on Calle Mateos Gago that you can stumble back after a few too many manzanillas without getting lost in the maze of streets.

What really impressed me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that balance between authentic Sevillian character and actual comfort. The rooms feel like they belong in this 16th-century building (because they do), but the air conditioning actually works – which, let me tell you, is not something you can take for granted in August when it’s pushing 40 degrees outside. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out; they pointed me toward this tiny ceramics shop tucked away on a side street that I never would’ve found otherwise, and steered me away from the tourist traps around the corner. Small touches like that make a huge difference when you’re trying to experience the real Seville, not just the Instagram version.

The rating of 8.5 feels about right – it’s genuinely excellent without being perfect, and the imperfections are kind of charming anyway. Sometimes you’ll hear the evening crowd from the plaza below (Sevillians eat dinner late and they’re not quiet about enjoying themselves), but that’s part of the whole experience. You’re staying in a living, breathing neighborhood, not some sanitized hotel district. The morning light filtering through the traditional shutters, the smell of orange blossoms drifting up from the courtyard, the sound of heels clicking on cobblestones – it all adds up to something that feels authentically Andalusian rather than like a theme park version of Spain.

  Set above the loveliest plaza, this apartment was perfect for our large group. Clean and comfortable. The location is truly superb!

  The location is wonderful especially with a very family and neighborhood oriented plaza. It was simply beautiful and made you feel like you actually lived in Spain. It was so relaxing sitting on the balcony and watching people below. There are lots of restaurants and food options in this tiny plaza, and it is just a short walk of a few minutes to the Setas, Catedral de Sevilla and Real Alcazar. The apartment is a little dated and quirky with the bathroom arrangements, but everything works well and I grew fond of it in just a few days.

  Posizione ottimale. Abbiamo girato per tre giorni tutto a piedi. L'appartamento è nel cuore di Siviglia. Il nostro punto di contatto, il Sig.Pablo è stato una persona veramente accogliente, inoltre ci ha dato tantissime info su dove andare. Alloggio adatto a 6 persone, funzionale e molto carino e soprattutto comodo. Spazi divisi bene. Lo consiglio.

  la posizione perfetta, centralissima. L'appartamento si affaccia su una piazza che brulica di gente anche alle 3 di notte, ma fortunatamente le finestre son molto ben insonorizzate. l'arredamento è molto molto bello! la piazza offre molti bar per la colazione, ma anche locali per pranzo e cena, per cui comodissimo.

  房子位于市中心，去各大景点只要步行即可到达，对面就是超市，生活非常方便，设施也很齐全

  L'emplacement est idéal au centre de la ville. On peut tout faire à pied. Il y a même un supermarché au pied de l'appartement. Le quartier est très animé : chanteurs, musiciens, danseurs tous les soirs en bas de l'immeuble….
  Le propriétaire est disponible pour nous accueillir, très arrangeant et aux petits soins pour nous.
  L'appartement est très bien aménagé. Les lits sont confortables et les deux salles de bains sont très pratiques. Nous nous y sommes sentis à l'aise pendant notre séjour en famille avec nos trois ados.
  
  What could be improved: Nous avons cuisiné quelques repas sur place et nous aurions aimé avoir plus d'équipements dans la cuisine, mais cela était déjà très bien !
