Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Alohamundi Alfarería? The name itself – it’s this quirky blend that somehow perfectly captures what you’re getting into. The hotel sits right on Calle Alfarería in Triana, and I mean *right* in the heart of it all. If you’ve never wandered through Triana, it’s honestly one of those Seville neighborhoods that feels completely different from the main tourist zones across the river. This is where actual sevillanos live, work, and argue about flamenco over morning coffee.

The building has this restored feel that actually works – not the kind of renovation where they strip out all the character and slap on generic tiles. Walking in, you get these lovely ceramic details (makes sense, given that Triana’s been the pottery district for centuries), and the lobby has this lived-in warmth that immediately tells you someone cares about this place. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s polished without being stuffy, comfortable without trying too hard to impress. Check-in was smooth when I arrived – the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations, not just the usual “go see the cathedral” speech. They pointed me toward this tiny tapas bar around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sells this location, though, is how it puts you in the rhythm of local Seville life. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk to the Puente de Triana bridge, which means you can stroll into the main historic center whenever you want, but you’re not dealing with the constant tour groups and horse carriages clattering past your window at 7 AM. The mornings here are actually peaceful – well, peaceful until the neighborhood starts waking up around 9, but that’s part of the charm. You’ll hear real conversations in Spanish drifting up from the street, maybe some pottery workshop sounds (there are still working ceramics studios nearby), and the general hum of people going about their daily business. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – typical for old Spanish neighborhoods – but the hotel staff knows the local tricks and can point you toward the easier spots.

Honestly, the 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but everything works well, the beds are comfortable, and you wake up feeling like you’re actually in Seville rather than some international hotel bubble. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings too – Triana has this great mix of traditional flamenco spots and newer bars that locals actually frequent. You can grab dinner at one of the family-run restaurants on nearby streets, then wander back through these narrow lanes that feel like stepping back a few decades. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to experience a city rather than just photograph it, this place gets you into the real flow of Seville life without sacrificing comfort.

  • Deirdre from United States – 21 December 2024 (8/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: Very thin walls so could hear neighbors and no view from patio

  • William from United Kingdom – 30 November 2024 (8/10)

Located in the lively area of Triana, with bars and restaurants very nearby, but quiet in apartment. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment had almost everything we needed and was very secure.

What could be improved: There was no outside view. We couldn't use the outside sitting area because the artificial grass was very wet and it retained the water after it rained, it would be better without it. The television was very small and only in Spanish, it doesn't cost a lot to install a firestick for other languages. All small things but, they do make a difference.

  • Kim from United Kingdom – 19 September 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was clean and fresh with good facilities. It was located in a great area with lots of nice restaurants. Despite being in such a good location the street was quiet and the whole stay we had no noise. A short walk over the Triana Bridge (a notable sight) took you to the historic area. I would absolutely return and recommend it.

Lovely location, we really liked being in the Triana area and there was a lovely bar across the road. Very clean and well equipped. Easy access instructions. Great communication on booking.com

What could be improved: There was no reception as advertised on booking.com

  • Regina from Portugal – 22 August 2024 (9/10)

We enjoyed our stay a lot, the location is very favorable for those who travel with kids, bus station, supermarkets within walking distance, we cooked breakfast and found everything needed for that purpose in the house. The host team really helpful and always available. Aircons worked well, was great to return and stay away from the sun and the heat.

  • Duncan from United Kingdom – 5 April 2024 (8/10)

Fantastic communication from the owner and always on hand to answer questions. Great value for money and Terrific location.

What could be improved: Nothing it was an excellent choice.

  • Olwyn from Ireland – 4 November 2024 (7/10)

Location was good, good choice of restaurants around and short walk across the bridge to centre. We were allowed to stay a few extra hours in apt, (as flight was in the evening,) which was appreciated.

What could be improved: Noise from surrounding apartments was a problem on a few occasions. Could hear full conversation and music coming from them. There was NO sockets in 2nd bedroom which was strange and an inconvenience. Microwave settings were no longer visible, (rubbed away), so was difficult to use.
