Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Alohamundi Pasión on Calle Pureza – I mean, the name alone had me wondering what I was getting into. But you know what? This place completely won me over, and now I get why it’s sitting at a 9.4 rating.

The thing about staying in Triana is that you’re actually living like a local, not just visiting Seville. Most tourists stick to the city center, but here you’re waking up to the sound of neighbors chatting from their balconies and the smell of fresh bread from the panadería down the street. Calle Pureza itself is this lovely residential street that feels authentically Sevillano – there’s a tiny bar on the corner where old men play dominoes, and you’ll hear flamenco guitar drifting from windows in the evening. The hotel fits right into this neighborhood vibe without trying too hard to be boutique-y, if that makes sense.

What really struck me about Alohamundi Pasión was how they’ve managed to feel both intimate and polished. The rooms have this warm, slightly eclectic style – not the sterile modern look you get at chain hotels, but not trying to be a museum either. I loved the little details, like how they actually have proper reading lights (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong) and the bathroom tiles that look hand-painted. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too – when I asked about getting to the Mercado de Triana, the guy at reception didn’t just point me in the right direction, he told me which vendors have the best jamón and warned me that Thursdays get crazy busy.

Getting around from here is actually easier than you’d think. Sure, you’re across the river from the cathedral and Alcázar, but it’s literally a five-minute walk over the Isabel II bridge, and honestly, I preferred having Triana as my home base. You’re right next to the ceramic workshops and that amazing covered market, plus you can walk along the riverfront when the center gets too crowded. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking (most places in Triana don’t), but there’s a public lot about two blocks away that’s way cheaper than anything you’ll find in the tourist zone.

I’ll be honest – if you’re the type who wants to stumble out of your hotel directly into the main sights, this might not be your spot. But if you want to experience Seville the way it actually feels to live here, with incredible attention to detail and service that feels personal rather than corporate, Alohamundi Pasión really delivers. Plus, at the end of a long day of sightseeing, there’s something pretty special about crossing back over to “your” neighborhood and grabbing a beer at that little corner bar like you belong there.

  The property was spotless and perfect for our family of 4. We had everything we needed. The rooms are spacious, there was a helpful guide that told us more about things to do in Seville as well as more information about how to use the equipment in the apartment. The location was brilliant – 5 minute walk from the main part of Seville. The staff were wonderful – nothing was too much. It was exceptional.
