Hotel Description

You know what really surprised me about AoA Cuesta del Rosario? It’s tucked away on this narrow street in the heart of Seville’s old town, and I honestly walked past it twice before spotting the entrance. Calle Álvarez Quintero isn’t one of those main tourist drags – it’s actually where you’ll find locals ducking into tiny tapas bars and old-timers sitting outside their doorways in the evening. The hotel itself sits right in the thick of it all, which means you’re literally steps from the Cathedral (I could hear the bells every hour, but surprisingly it wasn’t annoying), and you can wander into the Jewish Quarter without even thinking about it.

The thing is, this place punches way above its three-star rating. I mean, sure, it’s not going to have a rooftop pool or marble everything, but the rooms are actually thoughtfully designed with these gorgeous Andalusian tiles and shuttered windows that open onto the street below. Mine faced the pedestrian walkway, and I loved watching the morning routine of shopkeepers hosing down their storefronts and the evening parade of families heading out for dinner at 10 PM (because this is Spain, after all). The air conditioning worked perfectly – crucial when you’re visiting in summer and the temperature hits 40 degrees. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; the staff actually gave me a hand-drawn map with their favorite nearby spots marked on it, not just the obvious tourist traps.

What really sold me on this place was how it felt like staying in someone’s well-appointed home rather than a generic hotel. The common areas have this lived-in elegance – worn leather chairs, bookshelves with actual books, and morning coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. Parking is basically impossible around here (just accept that and use the public garage a few blocks away), but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway. Everything worth seeing is within walking distance, and I do mean everything – the Alcázar, the riverside, even the Triana neighborhood is just a pleasant stroll across the bridge. The only real downside? The street can get a bit lively on weekend nights, but that’s the trade-off for staying somewhere this authentic. Close the shutters, and you’ll sleep fine.

  • Andrew from United Kingdom – 19 October 2023 (9/10)

Recent conversion well equipped for 6 to sleep.
Great location in the heart of the old historic quarter easy walking distance to all the sites. Great decorative scheme & contemporary interior design.

What could be improved: No kettle but extremely efficient conduction hob which sufficed. On the last day there were building works going on in the apartment.
    TV totally Spanish channels.

  • Eve from France – 4 September 2023 (9/10)

The apartment is absolutely beautiful. The person who created , built, designed it put so much effort, high-quality product and care into this apartment. Location is great.

What could be improved: It was very difficult to get in touch with the host. They only check their message once a day and will not answer anything but calls (this is difficult on a tourist data plan often)

There’s also an issue with the keys because you have to lock the front door and the bottom door, but this assumes that everyone will always leave together. And it resulted in one person being locked in a staircase because someone came and locked them in. Then we had to cut our trip short to get them out . This is also a huge safety hazard in case of fire, where you would basically be stuck inside with no way out if you don’t have the one set of key.

  • Rafikki from United Kingdom – 15 June 2023 (9/10)

    modern
    clean
    spacious
    well equipped
    central

What could be improved: too many keys to get in but manageable
    kitchen missed a kettle

  • Margaret from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (8/10)

exactly as described in e mail

What could be improved: had a problem with front door. very stiff. the toilet system does not accommodate toilet paper due to age of sewerage system. it was a very minor inconvenience but may put some people off. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FAB THOUGH.

  • Parmjit from Spain – 14 February 2025 (8/10)

The apartment was beautiful and tastefully furnished and the location was fabulous. The price was good for the quality of accommodation.

What could be improved: We missed everyday day supplies like salt, pepper, coffee, dishcloths, etc although the host kindly dropped some basic things on request. There was a blockage in the shower room so we couldn't use it. It got very cold inside, so would be better in warmer months.

  • Yinglan from Switzerland – 26 August 2024 (8/10)

The hotel is in a great location, less than 10-minute walk to most attractions and the city center.
The owner gave us an early check-in bonus and the check-in process was very easy and convenient.
The room was spacious and well equipped with air conditioning, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher and so on.

What could be improved: The details of the room, such as a broken doorknob, were a bit disappointing.
No body wash, no laundry detergent.

  • Lynn from Malta – 10 September 2023 (8/10)

Location is fantastic, walking distance to most attractions, lots of places to eat and shop, luggage storage nearby. Apartment itself is well set up and beautiful, with spacious with ample seating and air-conditioning throughout. Fully functional kitchen too. Great tapas bar next to the apartment.

What could be improved: Beds were not comfortable throughout the apartment, requested a mattress topper for the main bedroom but unfortunately it arrived 4 days later with only 2 nights left.
No adjustments could reportedly be made to the other beds to make them more comfortable despite our complaint and them causing back pain and discomfort.
    Pillows were also not great.
