Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about AoA Green Gardens? The name actually makes sense – there’s this surprisingly lush courtyard tucked behind the building that you’d never expect from the narrow street entrance on Calle Santa María la Blanca. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Seville’s old quarter here, where most places are all stone and cramped spaces, but somehow they’ve managed to create this little green oasis that feels like a secret.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos of the cathedral area. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from the Alcázar (I timed it), but you’re on this quieter residential street where actual sevillanos live. There’s a tiny bakery two doors down that opens ridiculously early – around 6:30 AM – and the smell of fresh bread drifting through the windows is better than any alarm clock. The family who runs this place clearly gets that travelers want authentic Seville, not some sanitized hotel experience. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that corporate script stuff, just genuine helpful people who actually know the neighborhood.
Here’s the thing about staying in the old town – parking is basically impossible, but they’ve got arrangements with a garage about three blocks away, which honestly saved my sanity. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a hotel. Air conditioning works well (crucial in summer, trust me), and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get. I stayed in late September when the weather was still warm, and evenings in that courtyard with a drink were genuinely lovely – you can hear the city humming around you but it’s not overwhelming. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout, which matters if you’re trying to plan day trips or upload photos. One small thing – the hot water takes a minute to get going in the mornings, but that’s pretty typical for older buildings in this part of town. What impressed me was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central. You’ll hear some foot traffic from people heading home from dinner (Spaniards eat late, obviously), but by midnight it’s surprisingly peaceful. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtful and genuine in a way that makes you want to come back.

Spacious and very clean. Well located to visit the main attractions of Sevilla.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the en-suite bathroom attached to the double bedroom had a smell of drains. It didn’t affect our stay as we just made sure we kept the bathroom door shut at all times.Killiebill from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location, perfect for our stay
What could be improved: 6 flight of stairs to get to apartmentAgata from Poland – 7 March 2024 (9/10)
Spacious flat, great location, right in the city centre. Well equipped kitchen, spacious living room with comfy sofa. Two bathrooms and three quiet bedrooms.
What could be improved: It was pretty cold when we arrived and it took some time to warm the flat up using airconTheodora from Greece – 27 August 2023 (8/10)
Great location, close to the city center with many restaurants around and a mini market. The appartment was very spacious.
What could be improved: One of the air conditioner in the room was not working, which was not ideal for Seville in the summer. Property managers were not very responsive either.Victoria from Belgium – 19 July 2023 (8/10)
Excellent location and plenty of space for 6 people .
Good communication from owner.
What could be improved: Needs a clothes airer to hang washing and floors weren't particularly clean.Sara from United States – 9 March 2024 (8/10)
Location is great and the apartment is nice. It looks like the photos. The bedrooms are really quiet despite the location. It is spacious and fit our family of 6 nicely without having to use the sofa as a bed. With a couple of improvements, this place could be perfect. It also has an excellent breakfast place nearby called Moya Brunch that we ate at every morning once we discovered it. We were able to grab a taxi right in front of the apartment when we left, without reservation, and for about 6 euros to the bus station where we were taking a bus to Granada. We stayed at this apartment for about 5 days. Yes there is a loose tile noted in other reviews, but this didn't bother us. I could've cared less about this as it didn't really make any real difference in our stay. There was also a cute little laundromat nearby that we could easily do all our laundry at once at; we filled the machines and sat outside at the next door restaurant for dinner. When dinner was done, the laundry was done. Very convenient.
What could be improved: On arrival, both bathrooms had issues. One had a toilet seat that wasn't actually attached to the toilet. The other one was running nonstop. We managed to fix them temporarily on our own a few times throughout our trip. But they probably need to actually be repaired. Also, the shower drain was plugged and the shower let all the water run all over the floor. This did dry up each day, but still, not cool. The TV did not work at all. We are reasonably tech savvy and tried many workarounds to be able to watch something in the evening but nothing worked, especially with no internet in the place. Probably the most annoying thing though is that this place doesn't have WIFI. Even though it says it does, it does not work. One person in our group needed to work one day and had to go to Starbucks. We did contact the owners a couple times about most of our issues, and while they did respond a couple of times, there was no follow through to fix anything during our stay. We would consider staying here again, but we would know there is no internet in advance and expect to deal with some issues in the bathrooms. The bathrooms are functional in that they can be used, but the problems are a little gross and annoying.Kelvin from United Kingdom – 8 August 2023 (8/10)
