You know what’s funny about Seville? Everyone talks about the big tourist spots, but some of the best places to stay are tucked away on these narrow streets you’d never find unless someone told you about them. Apartamento Arquillo de la Plata is one of those gems – it’s on Miguel Mañara, which honestly I had to ask for directions to the first time, but once you find it, you realize you’re basically in the heart of everything that matters. The building itself has this weathered stone facade that looks like it’s been watching over the Old Town for centuries, and I mean, it probably has. What struck me immediately was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central – these old streets have a way of swallowing sound once the day crowds thin out.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep for a night. The space has these gorgeous traditional touches – think exposed beams and tile work that feels authentic, not like someone slapped it on for Instagram – but they’ve clearly put money into making everything work properly. The kitchen actually has decent counter space (rare in European city centers, trust me), and the bathroom renovation is recent enough that the water pressure doesn’t make you want to cry. I loved the little balcony situation they’ve got going on; it’s not huge, but perfect for morning coffee when you’re trying to ease into the day. You can hear the city waking up from there – street sweepers around 7 AM, then the cafés opening, locals heading to work before the tourists emerge.

Location-wise, this is where it gets really good. You’re maybe a five-minute walk from the Cathedral – I timed it because I’m obsessive like that – but more importantly, you’re surrounded by the kind of tapas bars and small restaurants where locals actually eat. There’s this little place around the corner that does the best montaditos, and the woman who runs it will remember your order after two visits. The Santa Cruz neighborhood starts basically at your doorstep, which means you can wander those postcard-perfect streets without dealing with tour groups if you time it right (early morning or late afternoon). Parking is going to be interesting if you’re driving – I’d honestly recommend ditching the car entirely and just walking everywhere, but there are a few paid lots within reasonable distance if you absolutely need wheels. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s one of those places that handles the details well without making a big show of it. Just good hospitality in a space that feels like a temporary home rather than a hotel room with a kitchenette thrown in.

  The location of this property was great. Plenty of things to do around the area and we didn’t find ourselves needing to venture far off for entertainment, food, shopping and history of Seville. The apartment was the perfect size for 3 people. Clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. Maria was a great host.

  Very clean. Recently refurbished. Great location. Cathedral and the Real Alacazar a 2 min walk away. Fabulous shower. Comfy beds. Strong Ac which is essential as it reached 38 on the first day.
  Seville is a beautiful city.
  
  What could be improved: Bedroom 1- the street gets noisy as they clean the streets at 1am.

  Fantastic location, between Cathedral and Real Alcazar, quiet pedestrianised street, cafe 20 meters away for breakfast, very comfortable, clean and modern apartment, super shower.
