Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Seville’s old town, and honestly, most apartments on these narrow streets feel cramped and touristy. But Apartamento Azahar on Calle Álvarez Quintero – it’s different. First thing you notice walking up to the first floor is how quiet it gets once you’re inside, which is actually surprising because you’re literally steps from the cathedral area. I mean, you can hear the horse carriages clopping by occasionally, but it’s not that constant tourist chatter that drives you nuts in other spots around here.
The location is what really got me though. You know how everyone talks about staying in the “historic center” but half the time you end up on some random side street where you need GPS just to find a decent café? Not here. Álvarez Quintero connects you to everything without feeling like you’re camping out in front of the Giralda. Walk two minutes one way and you’re at those little tapas bars locals actually use on Calle Mateos Gago – the ones that don’t have English menus, which is always a good sign. Go the other direction and you hit the shopping streets, plus there’s this tiny grocery store around the corner that stays open later than it should, perfect for grabbing wine and jamón when you want to eat in.
What surprised me was how the apartment itself felt more like someone’s actual home than a rental. The Azahar name makes sense once you’re there – there’s this subtle citrus theme that doesn’t feel forced, just… pleasant. The morning light comes in really nicely, and you can actually open the windows without immediately regretting it because of street noise. Parking is honestly a nightmare around there (I mean, it’s medieval streets, what do you expect?), but the nearest garage is maybe a five-minute walk, and the host was upfront about that from the start. Check-in was smooth – none of that “meet me at this random café with exact change” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The whole setup just felt professional without being sterile, if that makes sense. I’d definitely go back, especially during those shoulder season months when Seville is gorgeous but not completely overrun with tour groups.

Excellent apartment, well equipped and spacious. Very central location with easy access to all the sites in the old town. Good security and excellent communication from owners. Good selection of bars, restaurants and take away foods on doorstep. Recommend the pizza takeaway in Plaza de Jesus. Supermarket just up the road selling fresh fish. Kitchen well equipped with a large fridge freezer. Bed very comfortable with clean linen. Washing machine appreciated.
What could be improved: The sofa bed in the living area is uncomfortable and the window blinds either side of the front door are poor.Paula from United States – 18 March 2024 (9/10)
Location was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped. Spacious unit.
What could be improved: Musty odor in washing machine.Sandra from Spain – 5 June 2025 (8/10)
Estava tot molt net, molt ben equipat i molt ben situat.
Cyrielle from France – 25 May 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: les bruits extérieurs (pas toujours)
Pascale from France – 13 May 2025 (8/10)
La situation géographique. L'intervention rapide lorsque nous nous sommes enfermés dehors
What could be improved: Le manque de torchons de vaiselle.
