Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first turned down Calle Abades – it’s one of those narrow cobblestone streets in the old quarter where you’re constantly stepping aside for other pedestrians. But the moment I walked into Apartamento Boutique Abades, I got it. This place has that perfect balance of historic Seville charm without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum, you know what I mean?

The building itself is tucked right into the heart of the old town, and I mean really tucked in – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (I timed it because I’m weird like that). What struck me most was how quiet it actually gets at night, despite being so central. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional late-night reveler echoing off the stone walls, but it’s nothing like the chaos you’d expect. The apartments themselves feel surprisingly spacious for a historic building – they managed to keep those gorgeous high ceilings and original details while adding modern touches that actually make sense. The kitchen setup is particularly well thought out, which matters if you’re planning to grab fresh ingredients from the Sunday market at Plaza de la Encarnación (about a five-minute walk, slightly uphill).

What really won me over, though, was the staff’s approach to the whole thing. They’re not hovering, but they clearly know their neighborhood inside and out. When I mentioned wanting good jamón, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps near the Cathedral – they sent me to this tiny place on Calle Mateos Gago where locals actually go. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal hotel routine. I mean, parking is going to be a challenge no matter where you stay in this part of Seville – the streets weren’t exactly designed for cars – but they’ll point you toward the closest public garage without making you feel like an idiot for even asking. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re here during Semana Santa or the April Fair, book way ahead and expect the whole neighborhood to transform into something pretty intense (in the best possible way). The rest of the year, though, you get to experience old town Seville at a more relaxed pace, where you can actually appreciate the intricate ironwork on the balconies and the way the afternoon light hits those ochre-colored walls.

  Fantastic location, very convenient to the cathedral, old town and restaurants. It had everything we could need and a great amount of space for a family of 4.
  
  What could be improved: Bed was a little uncomfortable, but everything else was amazing. We didn’t use the balcony as it was winter, but it is shared.

  The apartment was very central but not affected by the noise of the busy street.
  The air conditioning was quiet but very effective. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of storage space.
  The living area had lots of seating and the kitchen was well equipped. The owner Patricia was very helpful.
  
  What could be improved: We found it very difficult to access the apartment using the electronic codes but once inside we were able to use the keys provided.

  Location is amazing right by cathedral.
  
  What could be improved: The terrace is not private. You share with other people. However, noone was there when we used it. It was very clean.

  Location was perfect, very central but no nighttime noise could be heard.
  Once we worked out the electronic key it was brilliant and easy to use
  
  What could be improved: The bed spreads (top covers) on the bed were very dirty. The quilt and sheets were fine . It would be better to not have these at all as they are not washed on a regular basis.
  The restaurant attached the building used the front entrance to smoke in, which made it unpleasant to walk through.

  This was a full apt just one block from "restaurant row" and two blocks from the Seville Cathedral. The location was PERFECT! We had plenty of space and were close to everything we needed. The roof-top viewing deck was nice, but small. The apt was very quiet and the Cathedral bells were muffled. There was a washing machine and drying racks provided, which we used. The host was very helpful when we lost our access – briefly.
  
  What could be improved: To access initially you needed to have your mobile with data. This was not a problem for us, but could for others. There were keys inside the apt, so electronic access wasn't needed thereafter. However, the location made up for any inconveniences for sure!

  Fantastic location, however, be warned the cathedral bells strike every 15 minutes. Nice apartment, had everything we needed, pleasant helpful host.
