Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartamento Catedral? The moment you step out onto Calle Pajaritos, you’re basically living in a postcard – but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all. I mean, this tiny street is tucked right into Seville’s old town maze, and honestly, I got lost trying to find it the first time (GPS gets confused in these narrow medieval streets). But once you’re there, you realize that’s exactly the point.

The apartment itself – well, it’s one of those places that gets the balance just right. Four-star comfort without trying too hard to impress you with fancy nonsense. The space actually feels like someone’s carefully curated home rather than a hotel room, if that makes sense. What really sold me was the morning routine: you’ll hear the cathedral bells (hence the name, obviously) drifting through the windows around 8 AM, mixed with the sound of neighbors chatting from their balconies and the distant clatter of breakfast plates from the café downstairs. It’s this perfect urban symphony that you just can’t get in the newer parts of the city.

Here’s the thing about the location – and I wish more places were honest about this stuff – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but you’re also on a street where actual Sevillanos live and work. The little corner store stays open late, there’s a tiny bar where locals grab their morning coffee (not the tourist traps), and you can walk to the Alcázar through back streets most visitors never see. Parking is… well, forget about it, honestly. You’ll want to drop your car at one of the lots near the river and just walk everywhere. The trade-off is worth it though – evening strolls through the Santa Cruz neighborhood, stumbling onto hidden plazas, ducking into tapas bars that don’t even have signs.

The apartment scores an 8.7 for good reason – it’s got that sweet spot of authentic character without sacrificing the practical stuff you actually need (reliable WiFi, good shower pressure, air conditioning that works during those brutal Seville summers). I stayed there in late spring, which I’d recommend – warm enough for evening walks but before the July heat that basically shuts the city down from 2-7 PM. The only minor complaint? The building’s old, so you’ll hear footsteps from upstairs occasionally, but honestly, it adds to the charm rather than detracting from it. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay just because leaving feels like abandoning a secret you’ve discovered.

Great location and very comfortable apartment

  • Shelley from Canada – 18 April 2025 (8/10)

Loved the location, quiet but in the middle of everything. The beds were very comfortable. We would come back to this apartment in a heartbeat. There were 3 of us, and I would suggest that it should be the max. It has a new elevator which was wonderful.

What could be improved: The kitchen could have been fitted out with more utensils. A coffee maker would have been greatly appreciated.

What could be improved: We only have one negative comment and that is the request to take the rubbish out to the bins on departure. If I pay about 25 euros to have the apartment cleaned I think this should be included. The bins are a few minutes walk from the apartment and were not on the route we took to leave. Surely it is more appropriate to have the cleaner take the rubbish. I would expect if I needed to have the rubbish removed during my stay that I should take it myself but that on departure it should be handled for me.

Lo mejor sin duda la ubicación, está en pleno corazón de Sevilla cerca de todos lo lugares de interés turístico.

    Localización

What could be improved: Nada en particular.

  • Tania from Mexico – 17 October 2023 (9/10)

    La ubicación muy buena

What could be improved: El primero piso algo sucio

  • María from Spain – 13 October 2022 (9/10)

    la ubicación y la decoración

What could be improved: las vistas, aunque era bonito ver la Catedral, no son como alguien se la espera. Da a una azotea particular u una calle muy estrecha. La terraza es un mini balcón.
No da sensación de libertad y amplitud.

  • Paula from Spain – 4 July 2022 (9/10)

Está muy bien para tres personas o incluso 4 , es muy acogedor lo único que se escucha los ruidos de los vecinos, pero en general bien.

    What could be improved: Nada
