Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and honestly, Apartamento Velarde-Maestranza hits that sweet spot you’re always hoping for but rarely find. The location alone – I mean, you’re literally on Calle Velarde, which is one of those narrow cobblestone streets that feels like you’ve stumbled into a postcard, except it’s actually real life. You can walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes (I timed it), and the Maestranza bullring is so close you’ll hear the crowds during bullfighting season if that’s your thing.

What really got me about this place was how it manages to feel authentically Sevillian without being touristy or fake. The apartment itself has character – you know what I mean? Those thick walls that keep things cool even when it’s blazing outside, and the kind of shutters that actually work (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to sleep past sunrise in summer). The building has that lived-in feel of old Seville, where you might hear your neighbor’s radio softly playing flamenco in the evening, but it’s not the kind of thin-walled nightmare where every footstep echoes. Actually, I was surprised how quiet it stayed at night, considering you’re right in the heart of everything.

I’ll be honest – parking can be a bit of an adventure since you’re in the old town where streets were designed for horses, not rental cars. But there’s a decent public garage about a five-minute walk away, and once you’re settled, you really don’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and I spent most evenings just wandering the maze of streets around Santa Cruz or grabbing tapas on Calle Betis. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby that doesn’t exist. They actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give useful recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots everyone mentions. That 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience the whole thing – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers exactly what it promises with a level of care that’s getting harder to find these days.

  The apartment is on a quiet street, close to the historic center, the river and the bullring arena. Perfectly furnished. The entrance is with code. The owner is very responsive. Paid parking is located 250 meters from the apartment.

  The apartment is in a very nice location, it’s very modern and cozy. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. There are coffee, fruits and water served. The mattress is very comfortable too, and the shower is amazing.
