Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Apartamentos Metrópolis on Bajeles street – it’s tucked into this narrow cobblestone stretch that feels like every other corner of Seville’s old town. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t scream for your attention from the sidewalk.

The thing about staying right in the heart of the old quarter is that you’re literally steps from everything that matters, but also… well, you’re going to hear those horse-drawn carriages clattering past at all hours. I mean, that’s part of the charm, right? You’ll be stumbling back from a late dinner at one of the tapas bars around Plaza del Salvador (maybe three blocks away?) and you’ll actually appreciate that you don’t have to navigate back to some sterile hotel district. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I keep calling them apartments because that’s what they feel like, not cramped hotel rooms. The kitchenette actually works if you want to grab groceries from the little market on Calle Sierpes, though honestly, with all the incredible food within walking distance, I barely touched it except for morning coffee.

What really sold me on this place was the small stuff that you don’t think about until you’re there. The shower pressure is fantastic (crucial after walking approximately 47 miles a day on those uneven stones), and the air conditioning actually keeps up with Seville’s brutal summer heat – trust me, this matters more than you think. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood, not just the tourist highlights. When I asked about parking, they directed me to this tiny lot about five minutes away that I never would have found otherwise, and it was half the price of the obvious tourist spots. Check-in was smooth, no drama, though I’d recommend arriving during normal hours because the building entrance is pretty discreet and you might wander around looking for it like I did.

The location really is the star here – you’re close enough to the Cathedral that you can hear the bells (which is magical until 7 AM on Sunday morning), but far enough from the main tourist crush that you can actually breathe. It’s a proper residential street where you’ll see locals heading to work in the morning, not just tour groups. The Metropol Parasol is maybe a ten-minute walk if you want those panoramic views, and the Triana bridge is close enough for evening strolls along the river. I found myself coming back to the apartment between sightseeing sessions just because it felt like having a real base in the city, not just a place to crash. For what you’re paying – and considering that 8.6 rating isn’t just numbers, it’s people who actually stayed here and got it – this feels like one of those finds you don’t want to share too widely because you want it to stay exactly as good as it is.

  Check in was seamless. We were in a room which was accessed next to reception, which meant it was 'slightly' noisier than usual, but not an issue. It was slightly odd to leave your room and be immediately greeted by the desk and other guests checking in and out.
  
  Hotel location is great, near a few shops to get supplies for cooking and to travel into the centre.
  
  What could be improved: We actually slept on the spare fold out bed instead of the main bedroom bed, as the bedroom was near the courtyard with windows, and didn't have view of a TV. Bed was very comfy however.

  The studio was very clean, with a king-size bed and a very comfortable mattress.
  Kitchen equipment was available for use, staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were straightforward.
  The location was also very good, walking distance to loads of cafes and restaurants with a supermarket very close to the accommodation. It was also very close to a bus stop for a bus that goes to the airport.

  Great apartment fairly close to city centrum. Loved the terrace where we had exceptionally good first sunbathing in our trip to Spain. Everything was confortable and met the expectations.
  
  What could be improved: The walls are quite thin, so party-loving loud neighbours on the balconys can be an issue. Otherwise nice and calm neighborhood.

  Excellent location. Can walk to most attractions. Very comfortable flat. Excellent reception staff. Laundry facilities onsite. Perfect for family stay.
