You know what caught me off guard about Apartamentos Montevideo 6? It’s tucked right into the heart of Seville’s Sur neighborhood, and I mean *right* in there – you’re basically living like a local from the moment you drop your bags. The building itself has that understated Andalusian charm that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which honestly made me feel like I’d stumbled onto something the guidebooks hadn’t quite discovered yet.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re on Calle Montevideo, which sounds fancy but it’s really just this quiet residential street where you’ll hear actual Sevillanos going about their day – kids heading to school, neighbors chatting from their balconies, that sort of authentic backdrop you can’t manufacture. What I loved is that you can walk to the Cathedral and Alcázar without breaking a sweat, but when you come back in the evening, you’re not stuck in that touristy bubble. There’s this little tapas place around the corner (I think it was called Bar Santos?) where we ended up most nights because, well, why wouldn’t you when the locals are clearly onto something good?

The apartments themselves feel more grown-up than your typical hotel room – and I mean that in the best way. Everything’s clean and thoughtfully set up, with enough space that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. The kitchenette actually works (trust me, I’ve stayed places where that’s not a given), which is clutch if you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the market and have a proper breakfast on your little balcony. Speaking of which, depending on which unit you get, you might have views of the neighborhood’s rooftops – not exactly postcard material, but there’s something really satisfying about watching the city wake up with your morning coffee. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works the way it should, and honestly, that’s what matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days.

One thing I should mention – parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, so if you’re driving, maybe scout that out ahead of time. But really, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need the car much anyway. The whole Sur area is super walkable, and you’re close enough to everything that matters that Uber rides are quick and cheap when your feet give out. The 8.5 rating from other guests makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that just works without any drama, lets you experience Seville properly, and doesn’t cost you a fortune in the process. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a trip, you know?

  What could be improved: Not a didn't like, but be aware of – the '2nd' bedroom is a mezzanine space with 2 single beds. Great for families travelling with kids, may not be suitable for adults sharing (access to bathroom is through double bedroom sliding doors)

  Nice and quite flat some 10 mins. from Plaza de España. No problem with parking in the surroundings. Communication with owner without problem.

  Stayed in Apartamentos Montevideo for two nights and had a great experience. Everything was clean, easy access, super close to plaza de España and Gardens, super nice area to walk around. Any questions i might've had were quickly replied by the owner and he helped us super promptly. I would stay there again i do recommend it!
