Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartamentos Plaza Pilatos? The location is absolutely killer – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally sitting on Plaza de Pilatos in the heart of Seville’s old town, which honestly feels like cheating because you get this incredible historic square practically to yourself most mornings before the tour groups roll in around 10 AM. The building itself has that quintessential Andalusian charm – think traditional tiles and wrought iron balconies – but they’ve actually modernized the apartments without making them feel sterile or hotel-chain generic.

The thing about staying here is you’re genuinely living like a local, not just passing through. I’d walk out the front door and grab coffee at the little café on Calle Argote de Molina (locals call it just “Argote”), then wander over to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes on foot. The Alcázar? Even closer. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you – you’re also perfectly positioned for the real Seville experience. That amazing tapas crawl everyone talks about? Well, you can stumble home easily after hitting El Rinconcillo or Eslava without dealing with taxis or figuring out the metro system. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, we’re talking actual kitchens where you could cook if you wanted to, though honestly with all the incredible food around, why would you? The wifi was solid (I worked a few mornings without issues), and the AC actually worked, which trust me, matters a lot during Seville summers when it hits 40 degrees outside.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s approach – they treat you like you’re borrowing a friend’s apartment rather than checking into some corporate hotel. María at reception gave me this hand-drawn map with her favorite lunch spots marked in pen, including this tiny place near Calle Sierpes where they make the best montaditos I’ve ever had. The check-in was smooth, no weird deposit drama, and when I mentioned I was interested in flamenco, she pointed me toward Peña Flamenca Torres Macarena instead of the touristy tablaos. Look, it’s not perfect – the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights (though that’s part of the charm), and if you’re the type who needs a gym and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to actually experience Seville rather than just visit it, and you appreciate having your own space with character and a location that makes every day feel effortless, then honestly, I can’t think of many better options. The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s really good at what it does, just don’t expect it to be something it’s not trying to be.

  • Annabel from United Kingdom – 2 May 2025 (8/10)

Great location, clean, spacious and black out blinds in bedroom so it was dark. We also really liked the private terrace.

What could be improved: The drains in the bathroom did smell, so we sometimes needed to hold our nose in the bathroom. We had also been hoping the terrace would have sun loungers based on the photos on the website, however these had been replaced with deck chairs.

  • Marla from New Zealand – 6 April 2025 (8/10)

    Great location, clean and comfortable

  • Patricia from United Kingdom – 14 February 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location in the heart of the old city .Quirky and comfortable Old world style in keeping with the setting .
    Very enjoyable stay in Seville

What could be improved: Toaster would be a positive addition
Some attention needed to areas of damp in back bedroom room.

  • Anija from Latvia – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

    Everything was fine! Great location!

What could be improved: The internet in apartments was very bad, it can only be used in the living room and only by one person

  • Sophie from United Kingdom – 26 April 2024 (9/10)

Great location, near to walk everywhere but far enough away you felt like you were entering a calmer part of town so you could relax east after a busy day. A really nice apartment, well equipped, comfortable and the owners luggage lockers are a great help if you arrive early or are leaving late.

What could be improved: Not so much didn’t like but it’s odd never meeting a human at check in. That said the owners were very good with communicating via the booking.com app and replied very promptly to any questions.

  • Sue from United Kingdom – 22 April 2024 (9/10)

Great location- quiet but with easy access to all historical sites. Roof terrace and added bonus. Apartment was very well equipped. Good communication with hosts.

  • Ella from United Kingdom – 25 March 2024 (8/10)

Great location. Easy to check in. Clean and comfortable

What could be improved: We found the WiFi quite slow. The bathroom did sometimes smell.

  • Jan from Belgium – 23 February 2024 (9/10)

I had the apartment with the lovely roof terrace. Even in February I could enjoy this terrace a lot. There is laundry machine, dish washing machine, small microwave, small espresso machine. Good bed, comfortable bathroom. Above all: superb location, really quiet although on a touristic place.
All this is more important than the " negative " remarks below.

What could be improved: The kitchen is well equiped yet one wineglass is a bit poor. The espresso machine offers the possibility of making a double espresso yet none of the coffee mugs allow this. After flushing the toilet sometimes the water keeps running which is a waste of water. The isolation in the building is poor. You hear the nouse of the other apartments.

  • Ellen from United States – 7 December 2023 (9/10)

En suite bathrooms for each bedroom, location, space. Perfect for two couples

  • Leanne from Australia – 5 October 2023 (9/10)

The location here is excellent! The view is lovely and it is quiet being set back from the street at the back of the plaza. It is walking distance to most things that you can see in a few days. The kitchen was well set out so you can cook at the apartment if you want to. Perfect for 4 people. I liked the code access so there's no confusion with keys etc. The Casa de Pilatos across the road is a must to see.

What could be improved: The people downstairs were smoking in the court yard that they have access to and our washing hanging on the line in the court yard was permeated with smoke.
