You know what struck me first about Arco del Postigo? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally in the heart of Seville’s old town. I mean, Calle Tomás de Ibarra isn’t exactly a street you’d stumble upon by accident – it’s one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The building itself has this beautiful Moorish-influenced architecture that actually fits the neighborhood instead of trying to scream “look at me” like some hotels do. When you walk through the entrance, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s honestly a relief after navigating the bustling streets outside. The lobby has these gorgeous traditional tiles – azulejos, they call them – and the staff genuinely seems to know the city inside and out. I asked about flamenco shows (avoiding the tourist traps) and got recommendations that were spot-on. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing groundbreaking but comfortable and well-maintained. Pro tip though – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe mention it when booking because sound can carry a bit in these old buildings, especially during weekend nights when locals are out celebrating.

What really sets this place apart is the location intelligence, if that makes sense. You’re a 5-minute walk from the Cathedral and Giralda, but you’re also close to actual neighborhood bars where locals grab their morning coffee and evening tapas. There’s this tiny plaza nearby – I think it’s Plaza del Cabildo – where you can sit with a drink and watch real Seville life happen without feeling like you’re performing tourism. The hotel staff will point you toward Calle Mateos Gago for the obvious tapas crawl, but they’ll also tell you about the less obvious spots if you ask. Parking is… well, it’s old town Seville, so forget about driving here honestly. But the location means you can walk everywhere that matters, and when your feet give out, taxis know exactly where to find you. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises with some genuine local character thrown in. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Seville rather than just visiting it, this place gets the balance right.

  The location was exceptional. The view was great and located in the heart of historical Seville . It was just a few steps away from the restaurants. It was very clean with a very comfortable bed and pillows.
  
  What could be improved: The stairs were horrible and worse than stairs was the bad smell inside the staircases and bathroom. Those didn’t have any kind of ventilation and bad odours stocked there. It was very noisy place because very close to bar restaurants.Also didn’t provide any kind of toiletries just empty containers for hand soap ir shampoo!

  Perfectly lovely little nest in the heart of Old Seville. Comfortable and clean with a full set of amenities. Steps from pretty much most of what Seville has to offer.
  
  What could be improved: Third floor walk up makes this location unsuitable for the mobility challenged.

  My wife and I were on foot and traveling with carryon luggage only so we appreciated the central location of this apartment in Seville. This is a busy part of Seville, located one side street away from the Cathedral de Seville, so I was concerned before arriving that it would be noisy. The apartment has great sound proofing with double pane window so we could close out the city sounds when desired, but sometimes we would leave them open just to take in the sights and sounds. The room was well appointed and included a washing machine.
  
  What could be improved: There were only a few cups and one glass but maybe there were more somewhere that we weren't aware of. We were provided with one set of keys for the apartment door so we were extra careful not to lock our selves out. The last night some of the lights flickered a bit and one went out but the issue seemed to have been fixed a little later.

  Was a great apartment right down the road from the Catedral de Sevilla and the old quarter. Couldn’t ask for a better location in Seville.

  loved the location, how cozy it felt, how amazing Javier was with setting up a taxi and getting us in earlier so we could explore the city without luggage!
