Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to this apartment building on Calle Froilán de la Serna – honestly, it looks pretty ordinary from the street. But the Arco Macarena Suite is one of those places that completely surprises you once you’re inside. The whole setup feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s gorgeous apartment than a typical hotel, which I mean, is exactly what you want in Seville.
The location is actually brilliant, though it took me a day to really appreciate it. You’re right in the Macarena neighborhood, which most tourists completely skip over, but that’s their loss. It’s this perfect mix of authentic local life and easy access to everything – I could walk to the cathedral in about fifteen minutes, but I was also surrounded by these incredible little tapas bars that clearly cater to actual sevillanos, not just visitors. There’s this bakery around the corner on Calle Resolana that does these amazing magdalenas, and honestly, starting my morning there became this whole ritual. The apartment itself sits on a quieter residential street, so you get the best of both worlds – no tourist crowds right outside your door, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail inside. The suite has this elegant, lived-in feel – not sterile like so many hotels, but not trying too hard to be quirky either. The bathroom is seriously impressive (and I’m picky about bathrooms), with this rainfall shower that actually has good water pressure, which you can’t always count on in older Seville buildings. The kitchen area is small but thoughtfully equipped – I made coffee there every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night after a long day of walking around. The air conditioning works well, which is crucial if you’re visiting during summer, though the building can get a bit warm in the afternoons. One thing to note: it’s a second-floor walkup, so if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, just mentally prepare for that climb.
The whole experience feels refreshingly personal – when I had questions about getting to the train station, I got genuinely helpful responses, not just generic directions. It’s clear someone actually cares about this place and wants guests to have a good time. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings with families out for walks and locals gathering at the corner bars, and from the suite’s windows, you get this lovely glimpse into real Seville life. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I wanted to feel more connected to the city rather than just passing through it.

What could be improved: They must provide toiletries
Betty from Canada – 22 October 2024 (9/10)
Location, clean and spacious, updated and very quiet street.
What could be improved: Simple things were lacking like soap and shampoo, perhaps salt and sugar and a few little things for the fully equipped kitchen.Chris from Germany – 28 September 2024 (9/10)
Communication with staff via messenger was really good. Location with the bike sharing perfect. Super quite and nice neighbours.

The apartment looks exactly as in photos. Is spacious and trendy. It’s also comfy and has a good view outside. We loved the amenities as we used them all (kitchen, washing machine etc). The hosts were very lovely and understanding and we could check out earlier than the normal hour. At check out, they couldn’t let us in the apartment any longer but they redirected us to a hotel, where we could leave our stuff until our bus hour.
What could be improved: The ac didn’t quite work on the warm up part, and we needed a little heat. Also in the kitchen it would’ve been nice to have some salt and oil (the basics) and also some detergent for the washing machine, but we managed (and left some for the following guests as well).Kay from United Kingdom – 18 November 2023 (9/10)
Well equipped Kitchen, spacious shower and lovely hot water. Very comfortable bed and very good bed linen and towels
What could be improved: The property could have provided some basic instructions for use of dishwasher and coffee machine and cooker hob. We used them -but it was trial and error sometimesAshraf from Jordan – 23 August 2023 (9/10)
Everything was amazing
Eva our host was very friendly and did her best to make our stay unforgettable, she provided us with 2 cots for our twin boys.
The air con was superb during our stay in mid AUG with an outside temperature of 45 + degrees.
The washing machine and the dishwasher were a plus.
What could be improved: A coffee machine would have been very useful to start the day.Mariam from Germany – 19 July 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: Everything was good.Rowana from New Zealand – 15 June 2023 (9/10)
Comfortable clean and cool. Out of the centre but easily walkable. Lift to the 2nd floor for the tired and weary. Everything you need to have a great stay in beautiful Seville. See
What could be improved: The toaster tripped the power box, every time. All else awesome. Don't eat toast.Felipe from Netherlands – 14 March 2023 (9/10)
The place is located on a nice quiet street, it's so well equipped, specially kitchen stuff. Wifi is good, comfy to work there, very nice with modern lock. Would definitely recommend.
What could be improved: I was asked 3x my arrival time. I mean, it's good to be sure, but in the end no one was there at the agreed time..
Instead someone called me to ask once again and arrived 15min later.
Shampoo dispenser would be a good addition.
