Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and ATICO ALFAQUEQUE is one of those spots that actually gets it right. You know what I mean? It’s tucked away on Calle Alfaqueque – honestly, I walked past it twice the first time because the entrance is more understated than you’d expect for a place with a 9.5 rating. But that’s sort of the point, I think. The whole street has this quiet residential feel even though you’re literally in the heart of the old town.

The thing about this place is the rooftop situation – and I mean, the name gives it away if you know Spanish (ático means penthouse). From up there, you’re looking out over those classic Seville rooftops with their terracotta tiles, and honestly, it’s the kind of view that makes you understand why people fall in love with this city. The morning light hits everything just right, especially if you’re an early riser like me. What really struck me though was how quiet it stays up there, even when the streets below get busy with tourists heading toward the cathedral area. You’re close enough to walk to pretty much everything – the Alcázar is maybe a seven-minute stroll, and you can easily wander over to the tapas spots along Calle Mateos Gago without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags.

The rooms themselves feel more like staying in someone’s well-designed apartment than a typical hotel. I mean that in the best way – there’s actual personality in the space, not that generic boutique hotel vibe you get everywhere now. The bathrooms are properly done (good water pressure, which honestly matters more than people admit), and the beds are comfortable without being so soft you sink into oblivion. One thing I really appreciated was how they handle the summer heat – the AC works well, but the building design itself keeps things naturally cooler during those brutal July afternoons when Seville turns into an oven. Parking can be tricky in this part of town, just so you know, but there’s a public garage about two blocks away on Calle Castelar if you’re driving. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no weird lobby scene or overly complicated key card situation. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the local spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups, which is worth its weight in gold in a city like Seville where you can easily get trapped in tourist bubble hell if you’re not careful.

Amazing! We loved to stay at the property. Florence was really kind and welcoming. We felt at home in Seville and this elevated our experience. Everything was perfect with amazing vibes.

What could be improved: Everything was awesome

  • Laura from United States – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

Immaculately clean, well stocked (kitchen and bathroom) comfortable bed, extremely accommodating and kind hosts. 10/10

What could be improved: While it didn’t bother us, the apartment is on the 4th floor with not lift – warning to those who aren’t as mobile.

  • Steven from Australia – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

Exceptional – quiet, good location, quality furnishings, comfortable bed. Perfect for our 4-day stay, during which we walked to all the great sites of central Seville. The 4 floors, no lift is an effort with bags, but worth the benefits of the patio and top floor quiet.

  • Lise from Canada – 9 April 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is very comfortable and so bright and cheerful! The owner always made sure that everything was working well and very attentive to my needs. I have been renting in other properties by this one is the best for being well equipped. I lived through 3 weeks of rain in Sevilla but always found peace and quiet in the apartment!

  • Michael from Ireland – 7 January 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, good amenities. Very comfortable bed. Super friendly and helpful host, really makes a difference.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Carina from Germany – 26 November 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is in a very good location, restaurants (Paradas 7, great for beakfast), a supermarket and the bus station Plaza de Armas nearby. The rooms are very well taken care of and clean, as well as the bathroom, balcony and kitchen, each equipped with the most important utensils. Florence and her husband were very helpful, kind and professional. They helped us to book a local taxi service as we had to be at the airport early in the morning. We were there at the end of October and the city had its charme and sunshine, so we enjoyed the morning with sunshine on the balcony with a cup of self-made coffee. We used the portable heater in the evenings when we needed it warmer. In the daytime we left to see the old city by feet, passing by the beautiful river site and parks, afterwards participating a Flamenco show in the evening and we felt save to walk back at anytime. We felt comfortable and as if we had a home in Sevilla. We would come back at anytime. Gracias

  • Annette from New Zealand – 24 October 2024 (10/10)

The property worked 100% for us, all the essentials were there plus the extras you may find in accommodation

  • Cmg from United Kingdom – 22 September 2024 (10/10)

Very clean and spacious. The fantastic balcony. The quiet neighbourhood and the closeness to Mercadona supermarket and the bus station.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Tamás from Hungary – 19 September 2024 (10/10)

Lovely apartment at the historical center. Real Sevilla feeling. Stylish furniture comfy bed, kitchen equipped all you need. Very kind host waiting for us when we arrived earlier. Fragrant flowers everywhere moody terrace.

What could be improved: Room is on the 4th floor. Climbing 3-4 times a day is a bit wearing after 3 days. But if you fit enough its not a problem.

  • Ruby from United Kingdom – 19 May 2024 (10/10)

Great location to walk to the historical centre and bus station. The apartment is very comfortable, well equipped for self catering and located in a quiet street. The terrace is a lovely place to sit out. The host was really helpful, responding quickly to any questions and let us leave our luggage after the checkout time so that we could have a last walk in Seville before leaving for the airport.

What could be improved: Everything was great.
