Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Seville, but this penthouse on Calle Águilas genuinely surprised me. The address might say “Old town,” but you’re actually tucked into one of those quieter residential pockets where locals live – not the tourist circus around the cathedral. I mean, you can still walk to Plaza de Armas in maybe ten minutes, but you won’t hear drunk groups stumbling past your window at 2 AM singing flamenco songs (badly).

The place itself is honestly what every Airbnb tries to be but usually isn’t. Real luxury without the pretentious hotel lobby nonsense. Being on the second floor means you get these incredible views over the rooftops – you know how Seville looks at sunset with all that golden light hitting the terra cotta tiles? Yeah, that’s your evening entertainment right there. The apartment feels properly Spanish too, not like someone just threw together IKEA furniture and called it “authentic.” The kitchen actually works if you want to grab ingredients from the Mercado de la Encarnación (about a 15-minute walk), though honestly, with tapas this good in the neighborhood, why would you cook?

What really got me was the attention to detail – the kind of stuff that tells you someone actually cares about this place. The shower has proper water pressure (miracle in old Seville buildings), the AC works without sounding like a helicopter, and there’s decent wifi throughout. Parking can be a bit of a dance around here – the streets are narrow and locals know all the tricks – but there’s a public garage on Calle Resolana if you’re driving. The building itself is quiet, mostly Spanish families, so you get that authentic residential vibe without feeling like you’re intruding. Check-in was smooth too, none of that “meet me at a random corner with a red umbrella” nonsense you sometimes get with these private rentals.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t your typical hotel experience where everything’s sanitized and predictable. It’s more like staying at a friend’s really nice place, which means you need to be comfortable with that level of independence. But if you want to experience Seville like someone who actually lives here, rather than just passing through the tourist highlights, this is exactly the kind of base you want. The 9.2 rating isn’t inflated – it’s just what happens when someone gets the balance right between location, comfort, and that indefinable sense of place that makes you want to extend your stay.

    The apartment is in the middle of happenings in Sevilla. Just a few minutes to all sorts of landmarks, great restaurants. The host was very easygoing, she responded extremely quickly to our questions and requests. The apartment is nice, can accomodate 5-6 people. The rooftop is awesome, we did not have time to eat there, but once did a 30-minute exercise (like in gym) over the rooftops of Seville 🙂

    What could be improved: Streets are a bit noisy, but you can handle them with an ear-plug.

    Great apartment in an exceptional location. The roof terrace was lovely to have. Our host was very good – great communication (and fab to practive Spanish!) and local restaurant suggestions. The supplied items such as coffee, tea, sugar and milk were very welcome.

    Beautiful apartment with huge terrace. Immaculate upon our arrival. Walking distance to all tourist atractions in old town. Fully equiped kitchen. Champagne in the fridge was a nice welcome gesture. Would highly recommend!

    What could be improved: It was stated breakfast included, but what you actually get was only pack of cereals, butter, jam and milk which were in the apartment when we arrived. One would expect real on breakfast…
