Hotel Description

So I’ve stayed at Ático San Clemente twice now, and honestly, it’s one of those places that just gets everything right without trying too hard. The location alone is worth the stay – you’re literally in the heart of Seville’s old town on Calle Yuste, which is this quiet residential street that somehow manages to be walkable to everything while still feeling like you’re living among actual sevillanos. I mean, you can hear the cathedral bells from the apartment, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos of Calle Sierpes just a few blocks away.

The apartment itself is on the second floor (that’s third floor if you’re American), and the building has this gorgeous traditional Andalusian courtyard that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something special. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to keep all the original character – the high ceilings, the tile work, the wrought iron details – while actually making it comfortable for modern travelers. The air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in Seville summers), and the kitchen is fully equipped, which is rare for a lot of these historic conversions. You know what’s funny? The shower has better water pressure than my apartment back home.

The owner clearly knows the neighborhood well because there’s this little folder of recommendations that isn’t just the usual tourist traps. They pointed me toward this tiny tapas bar on Calle Rodrigo Caro that I never would have found otherwise, and it became my go-to spot for breakfast. Walking to the cathedral takes maybe eight minutes, the Alcázar is even closer, and if you want to escape the crowds, you can duck into the Macarena neighborhood or walk along the river – both are right there. Parking can be tricky in this part of town (it’s old Seville, after all), but there’s a public garage about five minutes away on Calle Amor de Dios, and honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The apartment gets some street noise during the day, but it’s the good kind – kids playing, neighbors chatting, the occasional delivery truck. It actually made me feel more connected to the rhythm of the city. By 10 PM, everything quiets down considerably. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the stairs can be a bit much with heavy luggage, but that’s pretty standard for these historic buildings. What sets this place apart is that it feels like staying in someone’s carefully curated home rather than just another rental – and with a 9.1 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so.

A nice attic location with an external terrace we used for breakfast. Very secure. A little out of the city centre (15 minutes) but we liked the local restaurants away from the tourist areas. We used the parking right underneath the apartment block.

What could be improved: The parking access is tight so hire a small car.

  • Kate from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (10/10)

Was very comfortable, had everything we needed. Terrace was nice although weather wasn’t that kind for us to use it as much as hoped. I like walking but had to use taxis as too much to do more than one walk to the centre each day.

  • Rose from United Kingdom – 22 March 2025 (9/10)

Good location – close to restaurants & bars & less than 30 minutes walk to the Cathedral.Well equipped flat with a small terrace & the bonus of underground parking for a fee.

  • Rose from Netherlands – 19 February 2025 (9/10)

The location is perfect: close to the lively Alameda, but in a very quiet area. The owners have thought of every detail and the roofterrace is fantastic: many plants, sun and shade.

What could be improved: All was well!
Tip: if you want to party: do not stay there because the other residents are local families and you do not want to disturb them.

  • Konstantin from Estonia – 22 January 2025 (9/10)

Nice apartments in the old town. Clean and comfortable inside. Host guided us very carefully through out all the steps required, provided access keys to enter the apartments and park the car. As parking on the streets is pretty challenging then having a dedicated garage for a car is a nice option. Fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and overall spacious apartment.

What could be improved: Floors are cold in winter time, especially in a bathroom, so wear some warm socks at that time.
Views from windows are mixed. From a bedroom you will have access to a nice terrace with a view on a church and its square, while from other windows you will enjoy viewing inner building walls.

  • George from Australia – 18 October 2024 (8/10)

Breakfast was not included but location was great and all kinds of eateries were at hand including supermarkets

What could be improved: Address difficult to locate down one way streets. Entry was the use of codes for two doors followed by code for apartment entry. Inside were keys for garage and scanning discs but this meant leaving the car blocking the narrow one way street and a discussion with the police.

  • Louise from United Kingdom – 26 September 2024 (10/10)

Location was perfect, everything was walking distance and the apartment had everything we needed.

  • Rodrigo from Portugal – 10 August 2024 (10/10)

    Location and communication.

What could be improved: Minor cleaning details.

  • Carole from Spain – 16 June 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was clean and in a good location. There’s a lovely outside space where you can sit for breakfast or to relax after a day of sight seeing.
The host was exceptional, providing good pre arrival information. We found the apartment easy to find following the clear directions provided by the owner. He organised, with the lovely cleaning lady, for us to leave the car and our luggage earlier than the check in time. This allowed us to go out exploring knowing all our luggage was safe and secure.
