Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Avanti Huerto del Rey? The name makes it sound way more formal than it actually is. Walking up Calle Enladrillada – and yes, you’ll definitely get a workout on those cobblestones with your luggage – I almost missed the entrance because it’s tucked into this gorgeous old building that looks like it’s been part of Seville’s story for centuries.
The thing about staying right in the heart of the old town is that you’re literally living among the locals, not just visiting. From the apartment (it’s more of a boutique apartment hotel than a traditional hotel), you can hear the clip-clop of horse carriages heading to the Cathedral in the morning, and honestly, it becomes this weirdly soothing soundtrack. The space itself has this perfect balance of old-world charm – think exposed beams and traditional tiles – with modern touches that actually work. I mean, the WiFi is solid, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the shower pressure is surprisingly good for a historic building.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the maze of narrow streets that make Seville’s old quarter so magical, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos of areas closer to the main sights. It’s maybe a seven-minute walk to the Cathedral, but you’re on a quieter stretch where you’ll find locals grabbing their morning coffee and kids playing in the small plazas. The building entrance is shared – you’ll go up to the first floor – but once you’re inside, it feels completely private. Parking is… well, forget about parking right outside, but there’s a decent public garage about a ten-minute walk away if you’re driving. Most people just walk everywhere from here anyway. The host was incredibly responsive when I had questions, and check-in was smooth even though I arrived later than planned.
The apartment itself feels like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place – thoughtfully decorated without being fussy, with little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The kitchen is functional if you want to grab groceries from the nearby market, though honestly, with tapas bars practically on your doorstep, I barely used it. What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central – these old buildings have thick walls, and the street doesn’t get much through traffic since it’s not a main thoroughfare. If you’re looking for that authentic Seville experience where you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through, this is exactly what you want.

This property was perfect. You can tell that a lot of love was put into this apartment because the attention to detail was fantastic.
The location was perfect. We both felt very safe and the place itself was more than adequate. I really appreciated the little things – like having coffee available and the cleanliness.
Thank you for everything! Highly recommend this place!
What could be improved: Nothing bad to say at all.Jocelyne from Canada – 24 September 2024 (10/10)
Excellent location in the 'Old Town' of the city – easy to walk to attractions, restaurants, and bars; The apartment is located in a nice building which is quiet, clean, and has all the amenities you'll need for a short stay; The hosts were helpful with their recommendations and then even booked a flamenco show, which I highly recommend doing!
What could be improved: The only critique I would give it is that it's a little bit dark at the back of the apartment (but with open windows it helps brighten it up).Mario from Italy – 26 May 2024 (10/10)
The hosts were very helpful and kind. They also recommended an extraordinary flamenco show to us.

The apartment was spacious, clean and cozy.
The owner was very helpful with everything we needed.
The location is great, we walked to nearly all the attractions in the city (10-20 min walk).
It was a lovely 2 night stay, I highly recommend it.

The apartment owner was welcoming, and made it easy to find the keys and get in. The apartment itself is really clean, well maintained, and spacious. It had all the amenities that were promised.
It is located within a 20-30 minutes walk from all the major attractions in the city, and is only a 10 mins walk from the Santa Justa station. There are several good restaurants around the location for lunch and dinner.
The property comes with a spacious living room with wifi, a TV, refrigerator, stove, utensils and cutlery, some basic items like tea, sugar, salt etc., and a hangar wardrobe in the bedroom. The house also comes with a washing machine with detergent and a drying rack, which was massively useful.
The apartment overlooks the central courtyard, and has a balcony. It is also very safe, as there are 4 doors leading to your apartment (an external gate, an inner gate, an entrance door for the section of the building, and the entrance to the apartment itself).
The area is well lit during the night, and is very quiet and peaceful throughout the day. We enjoyed a lot of quiet and privacy during our stay, and overall, the host was always available over the phone and on Whatsapp for any help we needed.
What could be improved: While I liked my overall stay, there were a few things that one should be aware of beforehand.
There's no elevator in the property. While the property is on the 1st floor, if you have a lot of luggage, you will face some difficulty lugging it up to your apartment.
While breakfast was available in a nearby restaurant (Cafetería Aromas de San Roman – a short 3 minutes walk away), we were very disappointed with our experience. The restaurant got our order wrong, and did not agree to switch our item to the correct one. The menu is highly limited (coffee, some canned juice, and a sandwich). I hope that there are other options available in the future. I recommend skipping the breakfast if possible, and making your own while you're here.
Another issue was with the A/C. Seville is a hot city, and you end up needing the AC at night. But the only AC in this property is in the living room, and while the bedroom gets really warm by the evening, the AC cooling doesn't reach the bedroom, which makes it uncomfortable if you're not used to the heat.
Lastly, our bedsheet was a little stained. While I'm sure it was clean & washed, it did make us a little uncomfortable. Since nobody is available to clean the room during the stay, you'll have to manage on your own.Robert from United States – 22 September 2023 (10/10)
Location was great and place was very clean and had everything needed. Also the host was very quick to answer any questions we had. Having Netflix and Amazon on TV was real nice also.

Very nice apartment, perfect location with all the main activities within 15 minutes of walk. Breakfast in a bar not far from the apartment. Convenient way of passing the keys to the flat.
What could be improved: Small inconvenience with breakfast – it was a public holiday and the bar was closed. We were not informed about this in advance and the host did not offer anything in return.Maya from France – 24 January 2023 (9/10)
Everything was exceptional in the apartment. You can just put your bags and you will feel at home. Very well equipped, suitable even for a family. The owner was very responsive, gentle and helpful. We will definitely go back to this place with the kids. It is well situated. The breakfast NEARBY was just amazing.
