Avanti Las Setas, en el corazón de Sevilla y con vistas a La Giralda

Okay, so I stayed at Avanti Las Setas last spring, and honestly? The name pretty much tells you everything you need to know – you’re literally looking out at La Giralda from your window, which never gets old. The hotel sits right on Plaza de la Encarnación (fourth floor, if you’re looking for it), and I mean *right* on the plaza where those giant wooden mushroom structures are. You know, Las Setas – the ones that look like something from a sci-fi movie but somehow work perfectly in this ancient city.

What struck me first was how the building itself feels like old Sevilla – thick walls, those gorgeous tiled floors you hear your footsteps echo on – but then you open the shutters and boom, there’s the cathedral tower framed like a postcard. The rooms aren’t huge, which is pretty typical for the old town, but they’re thoughtfully designed. Actually, the whole place has this feeling like someone who really knows Sevilla put it together, not some hotel chain committee. I loved that I could walk to basically everything – Calle Sierpes for shopping is maybe three minutes, the cathedral is right there, and when you want to escape the tourist crowds, you can duck into the little tapas bars on the side streets that only locals seem to know about.

The thing about staying right in the centro histórico is that you’re going to hear the city, especially during Semana Santa or Feria season – but that’s part of the charm, really. I could hear the church bells from Santa Catalina in the morning (way better than any alarm clock), and there’s something magical about having your morning coffee while watching people set up for the day in the plaza below. The staff actually gave me solid recommendations too – not the usual tourist traps, but places like this tiny bar on Calle Pérez Galdós where the jamón ibérico is incredible and costs half what you’d pay near the cathedral. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but they’ll sort you out with directions to the nearest garage, and honestly, once you’re there, you won’t need a car anyway. I walked everywhere or took the occasional taxi when my feet gave out from all those cobblestones. The 9.2 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails what it is: a really well-run place that puts you right in the heart of one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, with a view that’ll make your Instagram followers seriously jealous.

  Location and facilities that came with the property.
  A tin full of coffee pot made a massive difference. Very clean and great location to everything. The recommendation list from Alvaro is very useful.

  Great apartment in a perfect location right on the square by La Setas. The communication from the host was really good, and the apartment was spacious and clean. A short walk through the old part of the city and you are at the Giralda. While we were there, bands were playing in the square, but because the apartment is at the back then we could hardly hear them.
  
  What could be improved: A really minor point, but the shower was *really* slippery, so a rubber mat would be helpful!

  The location was fabulous and the beds were very cosy. The air conditioning was very much appreciated during the heat of the afternoon, and the views from the bedroom were lovely.

  This is an exceptionally beautiful apartment. The location is excellent with stunning views of the Cathedral and Giralda. Many thoughtful touches added to our enjoyment.. coffee, tea, condiments etc in a most well equipped kitchen. Loads of towels, great shower and beautiful plant-filled terrace outside. And great communication with hosts.

  10+ for location, in front of La Setas. City centar is 20 min by foot, train station also. Restaurants, bars, shops – everyting is here. Great flat, 3 bedrooms, extra comfort beds. We haven`t meet the host but we got perfect instructions for self check in. Everything was perfect, cant wait to come again 🙂

  Excellent location, everything within a 5-10 minute walk.
  In front of the apartment is the landmark Setas de Sevilla and a square with numerous cafes and restaurants.
  The host is extremely kind.
  We entered the apartment before the official check-in.
  I would definitely choose this apartment again when I come to Seville.
