Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels in Seville, and honestly, the Avanti Murillo surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s this hotel. It’s tucked away on Avenida de Menéndez Pelayo in the Nervión district – and before you worry about being far from the action, trust me on this one. You’re actually in a sweet spot here. The location gives you that authentic Sevillian neighborhood vibe without the tourist crowds, but you can still walk to the cathedral in about 20 minutes, or just hop on the metro at San Bernardo station which is literally around the corner.

The thing about this place is that it gets the details right. I mean, the rooms have this understated elegance thing going on – not trying too hard to be fancy, but everything feels considered. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many hotels mess this up), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains, which is crucial if you’re planning to do the whole late-night tapas thing and sleep in. The bathrooms are spacious enough that you won’t be bumping into everything, and the water pressure is solid. What really won me over though was the breakfast – they do this mix of continental and Spanish items, and the coffee is proper strong, not that watery hotel stuff. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, they spoke excellent English when my Spanish failed me, and when I asked about parking (which can be a nightmare in Seville), they sorted me out with a nearby garage without any fuss.

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying in Nervión – you’re living like locals do. There’s this great little market, Mercado de la Encarnación, just a few streets over where you can grab incredible jamón and cheese if you want to picnic in the Parque de María Luisa. Speaking of which, the park is a ten-minute walk away, perfect for morning runs before it gets too hot. The hotel itself stays pretty quiet even though you’re on a main avenue – their windows do a good job blocking street noise. And honestly, that 9.4 rating makes sense once you’ve been there. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but everything works, the price is reasonable for what you get, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about the experience. If you’re the type who wants to explore real Seville neighborhoods while still having easy access to all the tourist spots, this is your place.

  The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed. Location was great, next to many good restaurants and stores. About a 10 min walk to the city center. Beds were very comfortable.

  The apartment itself was great. It was clean, stylish, comfortable and jn a good location with a helpful host. No internal noise.
  
  What could be improved: The first night (Tuesday) was quiet, the next 2 nights the music noise from a nearby venue went on until 2 am one night then 4 am the next. Great apartment if you're a deep sleeper or heading out yourself, but we were there with kids and it was disruptive.

  Very new and large apartment. Well designed and very comfortable. Within walking distance to very good restaurants and attractions like Alcazar.
  
  What could be improved: The cleaner overlooked the dishwasher which had dirty dishes left behind by the previous occupants. Other than that, the experience was awesome!

  What could be improved: You can hear noises from the pipes, you know when your neighbours are having shower or blow drying their hair.
  Second bedroom should have non see through curtains.

  What could be improved: Mould in shower recess. An unpleasant smell in the apartment – couldn't locate the source. Sheets on the bed were a size too small – did not fit the bed.

  We rented this apartment during the Feria de Abril. It was spacious and comfortable. It is right outside the city center which is good as it's more practical to get to by taxi. We loved the big dressing room.
  
  What could be improved: It didn't have much light since it's in the 1st floor (which is probably a good thing during hotter months) and no view (which is probably good if you want privacy).
  We travelled by car, and since the apartment has no parking, we had to park quite far away which is impractical when you have loads of luggage for the Feria. You can't offload right in front since the street it's on is quite busy. But this is probably not a problem for most people.
  The showers are starting to get a bit of mold. And the drainage is blocked in one of the bathroom sinks and in both the water is slow to drain from the showers.
