Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first turned onto Calle Capataz Luis León Vázquez – it’s one of those narrow Old Town streets that looks like it might dead-end into someone’s garage. But there’s the Avanti Rosario, tucked into this perfectly quiet corner where you can actually hear yourself think, which is saying something in Seville.
The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right, you know? It’s got that boutique hotel feel without trying too hard to be precious about it. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance – think exposed beams and tile work that’s clearly original, but comfortable furniture you’d actually want to sit in. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that “let me show you seventeen amenities you’ll never use” routine. The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood, which matters more than you’d think. When I asked about grabbing coffee early (before the tourist crowds hit), they pointed me toward this tiny place two streets over where locals queue up for cortados at 7 AM.
The rooms themselves feel surprisingly spacious for Old Town standards – I mean, we’re talking about buildings that predate the concept of king-size beds, but somehow they’ve made it work. What really sold me was the attention to sound dampening. You’re still in the heart of everything, maybe a ten-minute walk to the Cathedral and closer than that to some of the better tapas spots on Calle Mateos Gago, but you’re not hearing every conversation from the street at 2 AM. The air conditioning actually works properly too, which anyone who’s spent August in Andalusia will tell you is non-negotiable. There’s something to be said for thick stone walls – keeps things cool during those brutal afternoon hours when the smart move is siesta anyway.
I’ll be honest, the breakfast situation isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s solid and the coffee is strong enough to get you moving. What impressed me more was how they handle the little things well. The WiFi doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes, there are enough outlets near the bed (revolutionary concept, apparently), and housekeeping doesn’t bang on your door at 8 AM. You can tell they’ve thought about what actually annoys travelers versus what looks good in photos. The rooftop terrace isn’t huge, but it catches nice light in the evenings and you can see the Giralda tower peeking over the neighboring buildings – perfect for that golden hour drink before you head out for dinner. And here’s the thing about the location: you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but far enough from the main drags that you’re not fighting through cruise ship groups every time you leave the hotel. That’s worth its weight in gold during peak season.

The location was fantastic, a few minutes walk to the Cathedral & the mushroom, surrounded by bars and restaurants. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you need. Tea & coffee was provided & a coffee machine & large fridge. Bed was comfortable, the host was so helpful when we locked ourselves out & came immediately to let us in. 10/10

La posizione e la pulizia
What could be improved: Non mi aspettavo un seminterrato anche se nuovo e ben arredato.
Il cattivo odore che proveniva dal bagno era nauseante si avvertiva anche fuori dalla stanza.
Il letto molto piccolo.
