You know what really caught me off guard about Avanti Torre del Valle? I’d walked past this building on Calle Sol probably a dozen times before – it’s right in that maze of narrow streets where tourists get delightfully lost between the Cathedral and the Alcázar – but I never would’ve guessed there was this gem tucked away on the first floor. The “recien reformado” part isn’t just marketing speak either; they’ve actually done something special here, keeping those gorgeous Sevillian bones (think original tiles and those impossibly high ceilings) while making everything feel completely fresh.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of Old Town without the chaos of staying right on the main tourist drag. Calle Sol itself is this lovely pedestrian street where locals still do their morning coffee runs, and you’re literally a three-minute walk from all the big sights but far enough away that you won’t hear tour groups at 7 AM. I mean, you’ll still get the occasional flamenco guitar drifting up from the street-level bars, but that’s Seville for you – and honestly, it adds to the charm. The building doesn’t have an elevator (it’s a historic building, what did you expect?), but it’s only one flight up, and the entrance feels properly Spanish with that gorgeous tiled entryway that makes you slow down and appreciate where you are.

What really sets this place apart – and probably explains that 9.2 rating – is how they’ve managed to feel both authentically Sevillian and completely comfortable for modern travelers. The renovation work is thoughtful; they’ve kept the original architectural details that make these old buildings so special but added things like proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in July) and updated bathrooms that actually have decent water pressure. The rooms have this wonderful natural light that pours in through those traditional shuttered windows, and there’s something really satisfying about opening them in the morning to the sounds of the neighborhood waking up. Parking is the usual Old Town nightmare – basically impossible right outside – but there are a couple of public garages within a five-minute walk, which is about as good as it gets in this part of the city. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too; the staff actually knows the neighborhood and gave me better restaurant recommendations than most guidebooks. If you’re planning to visit during Semana Santa or Feria, book way ahead – places like this in the historic center fill up fast, and once you stay here, you’ll understand why people keep coming back.

    A spacious apartment with an amazing view to the ancient fortress. My daughter liked her room very much and felt like sleeping in a castle. Walking distance to the city center and all attractions.

    1. We had enough of quiet evenings for rest though the apartment is in the central.
    2. The size of the apartment is perfect for a family of 3 like us, and the surrounding is unique, looking through the windows is nice.
    3. Lidl is nearby, takes only 3 mins walk.
    4. Major touristic spots in old town are within walking distance, and the walk along the alleys are very pleasant.
    5. The host is helpful.

    What could be improved: 1. We have super king size bed at home as my husband and I are big people. The double bed in the apartment is comfortable but unfortunately it’s considered quite small for us, I couldn’t twist and turn during sleep.
    2. Some coat hangers and a shoe rack would be nice to have next to the main door.
