Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Azahar de Sevilla? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street called Calle Enladrillada that most tourists never find – which is honestly part of its charm. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the old town, but it feels like you’ve discovered some local secret. The building itself has that classic Sevillian architecture with the whitewashed walls and those beautiful ceramic tiles, but inside it’s been updated just enough to make you comfortable without losing that authentic Spanish character. The apartments are actually spacious (rare for European city centers), and each one has a little kitchenette that comes in handy when you want to grab fresh oranges from the market and make juice in the morning – speaking of which, there’s this amazing local market just a five-minute walk away that barely any guidebooks mention.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. The street is too narrow for much traffic, so you mainly hear the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages taking tourists around – it’s actually kind of romantic. During the day though, you’re a stone’s throw from everything that matters. The Cathedral and Alcázar are maybe a seven-minute walk, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by these incredible tapas bars that locals actually frequent. There’s this one place around the corner where the bartender doesn’t speak English but makes the best montaditos I’ve ever had – you sort of have to point at what you want, but that’s part of the experience, right? The staff at Azahar were genuinely helpful with recommendations too, not just the usual tourist traps. They told me about this flamenco show in someone’s actual living room that was absolutely magical.

Honestly, the 8.4 rating makes perfect sense – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails what it’s supposed to be. The check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually worked (crucial for staying in touch), and the air conditioning was a lifesaver during the brutal August heat. My only minor complaint? The shower pressure could be stronger, but that’s pretty typical for historic buildings in Spain. What really sets this place apart is the location – you’re living like a local in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Seville, not stuck in some generic hotel district. When you step out your door in the morning, you’re immediately immersed in that maze of narrow streets and hidden plazas that make Seville so enchanting. Plus, parking is actually manageable here if you’re driving (there’s a public lot nearby), which is more than I can say for most places in the old town.

Reviews

  • Dalal from Lebanon – 7 June 2025 (9/10)

There was no breakfast, location is ok 20 minutes walking distance from the center

What could be improved: Facilities in the apartment : everything is there, washer and dryer on the ground floor, small pool

  • Bárbara from Austria – 31 May 2025 (8/10)

The apartment was very cool even without using the AC. The bed was very confortable.

What could be improved: A bit noisy during the night.

  • Andy from United Kingdom – 15 May 2025 (8/10)

Good location, easy access to the old town. Lovely roof terrace to enjoy the afternoon sun. Great communication from host.

  • Robert from Spain – 9 April 2025 (9/10)

Lovely apartment just a couple of hundred yards or so away from bars restaurants tourist places etc

  • Joe from Ireland – 13 February 2025 (9/10)

Great location, rooftop for the sun.

What could be improved: Shower can spread water over the floor.

  • Martin from United Kingdom – 8 February 2025 (9/10)

The property was central but quiet. The two bathrooms make a big difference when there are two couples.
The use of the roof terrace was really nice, it had good views of the city skyline.
We used an area in the building to store our cycles, which was very useful.

What could be improved: We really had no problems with the apartment at all

  • Sinead from Ireland – 3 February 2025 (7/10)

Location is perfect. The bed was comfortable. Good shower. Reasonable price. Good tv with access to Netflix. No staff presence but they are quick on messaging app.

What could be improved: I didn’t like that after we were checking in I got an email to suggest that we would have to pay for cleaning (€43 full apartment clean) and/or new towels etc (€5 per person). I think clean linen is a basic thing that should be provided staying in any property.
A big thing for me was not being able to store our luggage there on the day of checkout. We had to pay €20 for storage lockers 1.2km away as we were informed the room was booked and there was no where to put our stuff.

  • Ekaterina from Russia – 1 February 2025 (9/10)

nice, clean apartment. looks exactly as on pictures. good location (only 10mins walking from the very Center), yet in quite a quiet location. grocery store is nearby

What could be improved: for me, the lighting is a bit too bright and cold inside the apartment (I prefer warm lighting. it makes places more comfy). but this is very subjective minus

  • Gabriela from Poland – 3 November 2024 (9/10)

The location, cleanliness, check in/ out, contact with the host

What could be improved: missing some items in the kitchen, but provided by host once asked for

  • Elizabeth from United Kingdom – 14 October 2024 (9/10)

    Great location
