Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Azahares Suite Apartment? The address sounds intimidating – Calle Angostillo Escalera A Piso 3 Puerta 6 – but honestly, once you’re wandering those narrow cobblestone streets in Seville’s old town, it all makes perfect sense. I mean, every building here has these wonderfully complicated addresses that feel like treasure map directions. The thing is, you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Seville, tucked away on one of those impossibly narrow streets (angostillo literally means “narrow passage”) that tour groups can barely squeeze through, which actually works in your favor because it stays relatively quiet despite being so central.
The apartment itself is proper – four stars that feel earned rather than bought, if you know what I mean. When I stayed there, the space had this lived-in elegance that a lot of hotels try to fake but can’t quite pull off. The ceilings are high in that distinctly Andalusian way, and you get these lovely glimpses of traditional Sevillian architecture without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. What really sold me was stepping out in the morning and realizing I could walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes, hit the Alcázar in roughly the same time, and – this is key – actually find decent breakfast spots that locals frequent rather than just tourist traps. There’s this little place around the corner where they do proper tostada con tomate, and the woman behind the counter started recognizing me after day two.
The practical stuff matters too, and here’s where Azahares gets it right without making a big show of it. The building is old (beautifully so), which means you’re climbing stairs – but honestly, after a day of wandering Seville’s flat streets and eating jamón ibérico, you’ll appreciate the brief workout. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no hovering staff or pushy upgrade attempts. The 8.8 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it’s actually going for. I particularly appreciated that the windows actually open (you’d be surprised how many places seal you in), so those warm Seville evenings when the orange trees are blooming – azahares, actually, which explains the name – you get those incredible scents drifting up from the street. Just be aware that if you’re visiting during Semana Santa or Feria season, this area gets lively, and I mean *really* lively, but that’s part of why you come to Seville in the first place, right?

The apartmant is very central and cosy. It's just a 2 mins walk from Las setas and less than 15 mins from the Cathedral and Alcazar. The neighborhood is really central, there are many bars and restaurants around. You can find everything you need for a short stay in the apartment.
What could be improved: They told me that I can leave my luggage in the apartment at 2 pm, one hour before check-in. In the end, I had to wait for more than an hour for someone to show up.
There is no sound isolation in the building so when in bed, I could hear neighbors from the next apartment until 1-2 am.Tanios from France – 3 December 2024 (9/10)
