Honestly, when I first walked into the Berenguela Penthouse, I wasn’t quite prepared for how much space you actually get – I mean, this is Seville’s old town we’re talking about, where most places feel like elegant shoeboxes. But this spot on Calle Doña Berenguela? It’s different. You’re literally living above the cobblestones in what feels like your own private slice of the barrio, complete with those thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet even when the evening crowds are wandering through the narrow streets below. The penthouse setup means you get these gorgeous rooftop views that most tourists never see – you know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever tried to find a decent vantage point in this maze of medieval streets.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend the old Sevillian architecture with actually functional modern living. The space feels authentically historic (those tile floors, the exposed beams) but you’re not sacrificing comfort for character – the air conditioning works properly, which, trust me, matters a lot during those brutal July afternoons when the city hits 40 degrees. The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags. You’re a three-minute walk from the Cathedral and Alcázar, but Calle Doña Berenguela itself stays relatively peaceful. I found myself ducking into nearby spots like the little tapas bar on Calle Mateos Gago (locals go there too, not just tourists) or grabbing morning coffee from that place around the corner on Argote de Molina – these are the kinds of discoveries you make when you’re staying somewhere that feels like part of the neighborhood rather than dropped into a hotel district.

The only thing I’d mention is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – well, that’s true anywhere in the old town, but it’s worth knowing ahead of time. Most people end up using the underground garage near Plaza de la Encarnación, which is about a ten-minute walk. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to leave anyway. The whole setup just works – whether you’re planning day trips to the usual suspects (Alcázar in the early morning before the crowds, Cathedral when the light hits just right in late afternoon) or you just want to hang out on the terrace with some wine from the little shop downstairs and watch the city settle into evening. That 9.4 rating isn’t an accident – this place gets the details right in a way that makes you feel like you’ve found something special, not just booked another room.

  Just had the most wonderful week in Seville with our family of 5 – 4 adults and one teenager. The apartment was perfect for us and the terrace an added bonus with the beautiful weather. Brilliant location with lots of super eateries on the door step.

  The apartment was just as picture show…beautiful in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are located on the third floor near the patio. The patio furniture was nice. The only down side was that the second bath was located on the first floor. We managed since there was a toilet and sink on the third floor. The apartment was just a short walk to bars and restaurant. I would definitely stay again

  This apartment was so much nicer than we imagined. Location was perfect, all the main attractions were less than a 20 minute walk away. Our host Ginés was very welcoming and helpful during the week. We were very grateful for the lovely fruit basket, coffee pods, water and beers that were left for us to enjoy! The beds were super comfortable, air conditioning kept us cool in the hot August weather, and the rooftop pool was used many times during the week by our family.
  We would love to come stay in the Berenguela Penthouse again.

  Beautiful! Everything is new. It is a great location. There is a rooftop pool. Also communication with the host was great. If you are traveling with a group, I would highly recommend this apartment. There are a lot of stairs though so would not be great for someone who can’t do stairs.
