You know what caught me off guard about Berenguela Setas Lofts? Walking up to this narrow street in the old town, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the outside – it’s tucked into one of those typical Sevillian calles that’s barely wide enough for a Smart car. But step inside and suddenly you’re in this surprisingly sleek space that somehow manages to feel both modern and respectful of the old bones of the building. The loft-style rooms have these great high ceilings that actually make you forget you’re in the heart of the city’s most cramped neighborhood.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. Calle Doña Berenguela puts you right in the thick of things – I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Cathedral, and the Alcázar is so close you’ll hear the tour groups chattering in the mornings (though honestly, the rooms are well-insulated enough that it’s more ambient than annoying). What I really appreciated was being able to duck into Bar Alfalfa for tapas at the end of the night without having to navigate back through the tourist maze around Plaza de Armas. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this tiny bakery on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would have found otherwise, and their coffee recommendations weren’t just the obvious spots every hotel suggests.

The rooms themselves have this interesting industrial-meets-Andalusian thing going on. Exposed brick, but with these really comfortable beds and surprisingly good water pressure in the showers. I stayed during Easter week (probably not my smartest planning move, but whatever), and while the streets outside were absolutely packed with processions and tourists, the place felt like a calm refuge. Check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting while they hunt for your reservation – and they actually had useful suggestions about timing your outings around the religious parades. The Wi-Fi was solid, which matters if you’re trying to research restaurants or book that Alcázar visit you definitely should have planned ahead. Look, it’s not the kind of place where you’ll spend much time lounging around the property, but that’s sort of the point. You’re staying here because you want to be embedded in Sevilla’s old town without sacrificing modern comfort, and honestly, that balance is harder to find than you’d think. Plus, that 9.4 rating isn’t just tourism board fluff – the attention to detail really shows, from the way they’ve preserved original architectural elements to the fact that your keycard actually works on the first try.

  The apartment is new, clean, and well-equipped. Using a password lock for check-in is very convenient. The host is very friendly and always available to offer assistance. We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment.

  Clean, tidy, great location, good value, a really good base to explore Seville. Not far to the city, but easy enough to roll a case to the station too.
  
  What could be improved: There’s a washing machine but no dryer – no problem for most of the year I imagine, but you’ll need a laundrette in spring.

  Grateful to Ricardo for accommodating our early arrival so we could get to exploring as we were only in Seville for 2 days and making sure we were all set. The apartment is on the ground floor but secure, comfortable and spotless, with everything we needed for our stay. This included a washing machine, clothes rack and a well-equipped kitchen. It is conveniently located with easy access to sights and amenities. I highly recommend it!

  The apartment was very new, pretty, comfortable and in a very good location in our opinion, situated in a quiet street but at the same time within walkable distance from most of Sevillas highlights. The communication with the hosts was excellent.
