Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked up to Calle Pureza Nº59 – the name literally translates to “Purity Street Number 59,” which sounds either incredibly pretentious or charmingly straightforward. Turns out it’s definitely the latter. This place sits right in the heart of Triana, and I mean actually in the neighborhood where locals live, not some tourist-friendly interpretation of it. You’re basically staying in someone’s beautifully renovated townhouse on one of those narrow streets where you can hear your neighbor’s TV if they’ve got the volume up too high.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Sevillian feel without making you feel like you’re roughing it. The building itself has that typical Andalusian architecture – you know, the kind with those gorgeous ceramic tiles and wrought iron details that look effortless but probably cost a fortune to maintain properly. Walking to the Isabel II Bridge takes maybe three minutes, which means you’re close enough to cross into the main city center whenever you want, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds of tourists stumbling around at midnight. Actually, that’s probably the best part about staying in Triana – it feels like you’re getting a peek into how people actually live here, not just the postcard version.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, though honestly the 9.2 rating makes more sense once you factor in the location and the fact that the staff actually seems to care about what they’re doing. I mean, they’re not going to win any awards for cutting-edge design, but everything works properly and the beds are comfortable enough that you won’t spend your vacation complaining about your back. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after the dinner crowds disperse – most of the action happens around the tapas bars closer to the river, so you can actually get some sleep. Just don’t expect to find parking right outside your door if you’re driving; this is old Seville, where streets were designed for donkeys, not rental cars. But there’s a decent parking garage about a five-minute walk away, and honestly, you’ll probably want to ditch the car anyway once you realize how walkable everything is. The Saturday morning market at Plaza del Altozano is close enough that you can smell the fresh bread if you open your windows, and there’s something genuinely satisfying about starting your day with that instead of car exhaust.
