I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Calma Places on Calle San Eloy, I almost missed it. The entrance is tucked into this gorgeous old building that looks like it’s been watching over Seville’s old town for centuries, and there’s something quietly elegant about how it doesn’t scream “tourist hotel” at you. You know what I mean? It just feels like it belongs there.

The location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Seville rather than just visiting it. You’re literally in the heart of the old town – I could walk to the Cathedral in about eight minutes (I timed it), and the narrow cobblestone streets around San Eloy are lined with those tiny tapas bars where locals actually go. There’s this little corner store right around the block where the owner started recognizing me after three days, which honestly made me feel more at home than any five-star lobby ever could. The apartment itself has that modern-meets-historic thing going on – think original architectural details but with everything actually working properly (the shower pressure is surprisingly good, which matters more than people admit).

What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so central. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional late-night conversation drifting up from the street, but it’s more charming than disruptive – sort of like having the city’s heartbeat as your soundtrack. The building has thick walls, and honestly, I slept better there than I do at home sometimes. The whole setup feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together, which explains that 9.5 rating. During Holy Week, when Seville goes absolutely crazy with processions, I watched from the little balcony as the pasos made their way through the narrow streets below – you can’t put a price on that kind of experience. The staff (well, the person I dealt with during check-in) actually lives in the neighborhood and gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. She pointed me toward this incredible little place two streets over where they do the best montaditos I had in the entire city, and I never would’ve found it otherwise. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference.

  Self-check-in. Clean. Excellent location. Friendly staff.
  
  What could be improved: Delay responding to the check-in instruction. Messages were given little by little. I arrived and waited 30 minutes to find out the floor and number of the apartment, despite having the keys.

  Localisation au centre de toutes les visites même si cela engendre un peu de bruit la nuit dans la rue

  Très bien équipé au niveau de l’électro ménager mais il manque quelques ustensiles pour cuisiner un peu le soir (saladier, passoire, planche à découper, etc)
