Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, but Cardenal Cervantes Deluxe actually surprised me – and that’s saying something for a guy who’s pretty cynical about hotels with “deluxe” in the name. The thing is, it sits right on this narrow cobblestone street in the heart of the old town, literally a two-minute walk from the Cathedral. I mean, you can hear the bells from your room, which sounds romantic until you realize they go off every fifteen minutes (honestly though, you get used to it by the second night).

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to squeeze genuine luxury into what’s obviously a converted old building – the ceilings are these gorgeous original beams, but somehow they’ve fitted everything with modern touches that don’t feel forced. The rooms are smaller than what you’d get in some chain hotel, sure, but there’s something about waking up and opening those wooden shutters to see actual medieval architecture instead of a parking lot that makes up for it. Plus, the staff actually knows the neighborhood – when I asked about where to get good jamón that wasn’t tourist-trap pricing, the guy at reception sent me to this tiny place on Calle Mateos Gago where locals actually shop. You know what I mean? That kind of insider knowledge you can’t fake.

The location is honestly the killer feature here. You’re stumbling distance from every major sight, but more importantly, you’re in the middle of where Sevillanos actually live and work. There’s this little café literally next door where old guys play dominoes at 6 AM, and the whole Santa Cruz neighborhood spreads out around you like this maze of orange trees and hidden plazas. Parking is absolutely brutal if you’re driving – I ended up leaving my car at a lot about ten minutes away and just walking everywhere, which turned out to be perfect anyway. The building itself gets a bit echoey with all those tile floors, so you’ll hear people coming and going, but it’s not obnoxious party noise, just the gentle sounds of a place that’s actually alive. I stayed there during Holy Week (probably not the smartest timing for avoiding crowds), and even then it felt like a calm refuge when I needed to escape the processions and chaos outside. The 9.3 rating makes total sense – this isn’t trying to be some massive resort experience, it’s just doing the boutique hotel thing really, really well in one of Europe’s most beautiful old quarters.

  I try 6 apartment in SPAIN, this is the best apartment, its clean , the location is perfect, we went in JUNE and its hot but the air conditioning was very good, i recommend every one to rent the apartment, thank you ANTONI

  Our flight was delayed and we were welcomed by Alberto at midnight who was very nice,showed us everything in the apartment and the parking facilities.The apartment is spotlessly clean,beds were very comfortable, and a welcome pack of tea/coffee/water,2 showers and toilets.Walking distance to all the major sights.5 minute walk to Setas de Seville.The apartment has everything you need.We had a fantastic weekend in Seville.
