Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Casa Carmen? It’s actually tucked away on this narrow little street – Calle Carlos Cañal – that most tourists probably walk right past without noticing. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Sevilla’s old town, but it feels sort of like a secret once you step inside. The entrance is pretty understated, which honestly made me wonder if I was in the right place at first.
But here’s the thing – that location is absolutely perfect if you want to really experience Sevilla rather than just see it. You can walk to the Cathedral in maybe eight minutes (I timed it), and the whole Santa Cruz neighborhood is right there with all those winding cobblestone streets and hidden plazas. What I loved is that you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the main tourist drags that you don’t hear groups of people walking by with their tour guides at all hours. The street itself is pretty quiet, especially at night, which was a relief after staying in some places where you hear every conversation from the sidewalk.
The hotel itself has this really nice blend of traditional Andalusian style with modern touches that actually work – not like some places where they just slap WiFi in a 16th-century building and call it renovated. The rooms are well-appointed (I hate that phrase but it fits here), and you can tell they’ve put thought into the details. Air conditioning works properly, which… well, if you’ve been to Sevilla in summer, you know that’s not negotiable. The staff genuinely seems to know the city – not just the obvious tourist spots but good tapas places that locals actually go to, which streets to avoid during certain festivals, that kind of insider knowledge that makes a difference.
I’d say the 8.7 rating feels about right. It’s not going to blow your mind with over-the-top luxury, but everything works the way it should, the location can’t be beat, and there’s something really comfortable about the whole place. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the neighborhood actually comes alive in the evenings when you hear Spanish families out for their paseos and the local bars fill up with people from the area. You feel like you’re staying somewhere real, not in some sanitized tourist bubble. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to duck out between sightseeing to recharge somewhere peaceful, then walk out your door and be back in the middle of everything in five minutes, Casa Carmen really delivers on that.

The location is top! Very close to every attraction, very convenient. The place is quite big. It was clean and well equiped. The people were very helpful and prompt. We were even able to check in early which was very appreciated
What could be improved: The downstairs bedroom had a squeaky bedMary from United States – 3 May 2025 (8/10)
The place was spacious and clean. It had a nicely equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable. There was hot water and a good washing machine.
What could be improved: We didn’t realize there was a long staircase in the middle of the apartment. The second bed and bath could only be accessed by going downstairs. This would have been impossible for elderly or handicapped person. The electricity went out in all of Spain during our stay so we had no lights or elevator. Our host did not check to see if we were okay or to bring us a flashlight. That would have been nice.David from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (9/10)
Spotlessly clean and attentive staff. Thank you

Location is great. Literally in the historical centre.
What could be improved: Apt. in fact has no patio/terrace/balcony. There is only outside corridor to the others apartments/flats. Beside that we did not get the keys from the door to that patio. We didn't need it, since we spent all days outside. However if anyone would plan to e.g. take morning coffe on the "patio", it might be a disappointment.Maria from United Kingdom – 15 October 2024 (9/10)
The location is absolutely excellent- 10 mins walk to the cathedral and Alcazar. Turn right out of the door, cross over to Calle Albareda and you’ll find streets filled with restaurants.
The property is thoughtfully furnished and set across 2 floors. There are stone stairs connecting the upper and lower rooms. There is a stair gate. The lower twin bedded room is the master bedroom and is very spacious. The downstairs shower is quite a small cubicle but the upstairs one is generously sized.
Beds are comfortable and it is fully air conditioned. We didn’t prepare any food as Seville is full of restaurants and bakeries but the kitchen seemed suitably equipped.
Thomas , the host, was immediately responsive when we needed some help.Melanie from Cayman Islands – 9 September 2024 (9/10)
The apartment was sparkling clean, lots of space with comfortable beds & quiet neighborhood for a good nights rest. Well located close to City Centro sights, Triana, rooftop bars & delicious restaurants. Great value for price. Our host Tomas was very responsive & friendly 🙂
Raymond from United Kingdom – 1 January 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was ideally positioned for us to wander around Seville –so perfect for us.
Several lovely eating places and little supermarkets close by- wonderful
Needed a very handy, cheap tram once to go see Plaza de Espana –excellent—no further public transport needed as our accommodation was so well placed.
We stayed during the Dana but our apartment was cosy and warm throughout.
What could be improved: several very sharp edges causing bruises. —; an "out-jut "of marble on the way downstairs to the lower bedroom caught my husband on the shoulder more than once.
A nail protruding from the right side of the base of the bed took us by painful surprise a couple of times.
The lower bedroom is not really suitable for the very elderly or for smell children.Sharp from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (5/10)
Location was great
What could be improved: One bedroom was down steep marble stairs that turned a corner. No pre warning of this. Iron leaked and therefore was no use at all. Beds were uncomfortable and the one downstairs creaked really badly. Bathrooms could have been cleaner. Main negative is the bed upstairs WAS NOT CLEAN. Disgusting!Maríluz from Portugal – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
Todo perfecto y la ubicación genial
