You know how sometimes you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, this is exactly what I was hoping for”? That’s Casa de la Moneda Residences. I mean, the name alone hints at something special – it’s actually in a beautifully restored historic building that used to be connected to Seville’s old mint, which honestly makes way more sense once you see the elegant stonework and those impossibly high ceilings.
The location on Calle Habana is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist circus that Calle Sierpes can become. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Cathedral (and I mean actually two minutes, not travel-website-two-minutes), but tucked away enough that you won’t hear crowds of tour groups at 7 AM. The street itself is narrow and cobbled – your wheeled luggage will hate it, but it’s so atmospheric you won’t care. There’s this little tapas place called El Rinconcillo just around the corner that locals swear by, and honestly, stumbling onto it felt like finding a secret. The residences themselves have this wonderful blend of old-world charm and modern comfort that you don’t always get right. The rooms are spacious – actually spacious, not European-hotel-spacious – with original architectural details that make you want to just sit and stare at the ceiling moldings. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being in the old town center. The building’s thick walls do their job, though you’ll still catch the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages in the evening, which is actually kind of charming.
The staff runs the place like they genuinely care about your experience, not like they’re checking boxes on a hospitality manual. When I mentioned wanting to catch sunrise at the Giralda without the crowds, the front desk guy – Antonio, I think – didn’t just give me the standard “it opens at 8:30” response. He actually walked me through the best route and timing, plus suggested stopping at a particular café afterward that I never would have found otherwise. The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you experience that level of attention. One small thing – the WiFi can be a bit spotty in some corners of the building (those thick historic walls again), but honestly, being forced to disconnect a bit in a place like Seville isn’t the worst problem to have. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Andalusian charm and genuine comfort, this place delivers without trying too hard to impress you.

This property was historic, beautiful, ideally located, so comfortable, and staffed by the most wonderful and accommodating individuals (thank you, Nuria)! It made my very short time in Sevilla feel so much longer because of how wonderful the residence was, and we did not want to leave.

Excellent location, super central next to the Cathedral but very quiet. Our apartment was like a little house, extremely spacious, with terrace and small pool included. Fully equipped kitchen, with water replenished every day! They also do daily cleaning. We loved our stay.
