Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Casa del Contratador – I mean, you see so many boutique hotels claiming to be “authentic” these days. But this place actually gets it right. It’s tucked right into Plaza de la Contratación, which if you know Seville at all, you’ll recognize as one of those quiet squares that locals use as a shortcut between the cathedral area and the river. The building itself is this gorgeous 18th-century mansion that’s been converted into suites, and they’ve managed to keep all the original character without making it feel like you’re sleeping in a museum.

What really won me over was how they’ve thought about the details that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere. The suites – and they’re all proper suites, not just hotel rooms with a sitting area tacked on – have these massive windows that open onto the plaza, so you get this lovely cross-breeze in the evenings when the temperature drops. The noise level is perfect too; you’re right in the old town so there’s life happening around you, but the plaza doesn’t get the bar crowds that some of the other squares do. I stayed there during Semana Santa (probably not the smartest timing for avoiding crowds, but you know how it is), and even then it felt like a proper retreat at the end of the day. The staff – well, they’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually seem to care whether you find that little ceramics shop you’ve been looking for.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Seville rather than just visiting it. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but you’re also close enough to the Triana bridge that you can easily pop over to the other side for dinner. There’s this tiny café right around the corner – I think it’s called Bar Manolo or something similar – where you can get proper coffee and tostada for breakfast instead of the hotel breakfast if you’re feeling adventurous. And here’s something I appreciated: they’ve got a small parking arrangement worked out, which if you’ve ever tried to drive in Seville’s old town, you’ll understand is basically a miracle. The whole experience just felt… well, it felt like staying at a friend’s incredibly stylish apartment, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a thing for beautifully restored historical buildings. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to book your next trip to Seville before you’ve even left.

  The apartment is just amazing! Stunning beautiful decorations, super clean, amenities were perfect, staff are very friendly and helpful, the location was superb! It was really much above my expectations
  
  What could be improved: The only problem was that there was no hot water, we didn’t complain about it though cause the weather was hot and cold water was fine for showering

  The apartment is amazing. Spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean with beautiful decoration. The central location would be hard to beat, but is quite quiet too, being in a square with hardly any traffic. The roof top bar was an added bonus. Staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Check in was difficult as the form would not open on the PC, so had to be done on a phone. When we arrived, the codes to the door did not work. The cleaners were super helpful and let us into the apartment and got the codes working. They also showed us the lift and the code to use it – there was no information on this anywhere, which is rather strange as the apartment has a door to the lift as well as the stairs. With a Nespresso machine in the apartment, having smaller cups would have been good. Only very large mugs were in the kitchen.

  The apartment was beautiful, exceptionally clean and spacious. The apartment had both a washing machine and dishwasher and the hosts provided cleaning products.
  There's a lift to the beautiful rooftop terrace with views of the Cathedral and surrounding areas.
  
  What could be improved: The pool is probably about 1.5m×2.5m so not large enough to swim. This is clearly written on the website

  Lovely Deco, great location:) They sent a fresh bouquet after we arrived. The terrace was nice. Has a great view of the cathedral. Me and my husband we love the place.
  
  What could be improved: I was bitten by a bug around my belly button, for it is not a mosquito bite. Then when changed another bedroom was fine.

  Cleanliness, decoration, location, nice roof terrace with bar service to sit at night. The staff is available and nice. The property is equipped with everything you need including a welcome goodies, fruits and a surprise bottle of champagne. The hospitality is above and beyond.
  
  What could be improved: We stayed on the first floor of the property. It gets loud with carriage service and noise from service vehicles. It will be fine for a night or two but for a long stay it might be distributing. The only thing that missing in the apartment is kitchen paper towel to wipe mess or spill.

  Ich habe mich für meine Hochzeit in der Wohnung gerichtet. Die Wohnungs ist ein absoluter Traum. Alles war sehr sauber, top gepflegt und das Personal mehr als nur zuvorkommend! Die Räume sind hell und der Standort könnte nicht besser sein! Das Apartment ist eine absolute 10 von 10!

  Tout était parfait dans ce superbe appartement à deux pas de l’Alcazar et de la Cathédrale de Séville. Des hôtes adorables et attentionnés: merci Miriam et Manuel pour votre accueil, votre sourire, pour nous avoir organisé les transfers et nous avoir permis de laisser nos bagages. La déco est magnifique, nous avons eu un panier d’accueil très sympathique avec fruits, vin, jambon, eau. Café et thé, c'est très agréable quand on arrive. Nous avons adoré le confort, l’espace, le patio et le merveilleux rooftop avec vue imprenable sur la cathédrale. Hormis le bruit des calèches, l’appartement est très calme, pas de bars à proximité et des doubles vitrages partout. L’immeuble a été entièrement rénové récemment et tout est neuf et très propre. Nous avons aimé l’attention portée aux détails. Lave vaisselle et lave linge, cafetière Nespresso, bouilloire, four, sèche cheveux et même fer à repasser! Je recommande vivement la casa el contratador. Merci pour tout!
