Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Casa del Rey Sabio? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street that honestly feels like you’ve stepped back a few centuries, but then you walk inside and everything just clicks into place. The building itself is this gorgeous converted palace – I mean, you can tell it has serious history just from the way the light filters through the original windows and hits those traditional Andalusian tiles.

The location is absolutely perfect if you actually want to experience Seville rather than just see it. You’re literally in the heart of the old town, maybe a three-minute walk from the Cathedral (you’ll hear the bells, which is either charming or annoying depending on how you feel about being woken up at 7 AM – I personally loved it). The Alcázar is right there too, and here’s something most people don’t realize: you can actually walk to both without dealing with any of the crazy tourist bus routes that clog up the main streets. The hotel sits on Calle Don Alonso el Sabio, which sounds fancy but it’s actually just this quiet little street where you’ll see more locals heading to work than tour groups with their umbrellas held high.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep the authentic feel without making you suffer for it. The rooms have these incredible high ceilings and original architectural details, but the air conditioning actually works (crucial in Seville summers, trust me), and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like it does in a lot of these historic places. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this tiny tapas place around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, the whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s beautifully restored family home. The courtyard is where you’ll probably end up spending your evenings; it’s got that classic Sevillian patio vibe with the fountain and orange trees, and it stays cool even when the streets are blazing hot.

Parking can be a bit of a nightmare in this part of town – the streets are basically medieval, so they weren’t exactly designed for cars – but the hotel can sort that out for you if you ask ahead. The breakfast is solid, nothing revolutionary, but they do it in the courtyard when weather permits, and there’s something pretty magical about starting your day surrounded by all that history while planning which cathedral treasures you’re going to gawk at next.

Great, clean and spacious apartment! We loved it. Nice furnishing and big towels with all the little touches – slippers, welcome wine, coffee machine.

What could be improved: Nothing. All was good.

  • Robyn from New Zealand – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Beautiful small apartment hotel set around classical Spanish style courtyard. Lovely room and living area, great aircon, close to everything. Easy to get in and out by key code. Comfy big bed. Tiny pool but refreshing. Exactly as the pics. Excellent food recommendations.

What could be improved: No laundry, but they showed us where to use a coin laundry down the road.

  • Chin from Australia – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

The design is just stunning — every detail is thoughtfully curated, blending elegance with historical charm. The interior is not only beautiful but also incredibly inviting, making it feel like a luxurious home away from home.
Also, the staff made my stay extra special cuz they were so warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Great stay and definitely a 10/10.

The location was very central, it was peaceful, the studio apartment well equipped and clean. The reception staff Gema and Adrianna were excellent, vey helpful with anything spew needed and recommendations.

What could be improved: Sadly the rooftop pool was closed for renovations so although you could still sit up on the roof terrace there was nowhere to cool off.
