You know what caught me off guard about Casa Señorial del Siglo XVIII? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on Jesús del Gran Poder, it’s like someone hit pause on the chaos of Seville’s old town. I mean, the street itself is this narrow cobblestone slice of history – you’re literally walking distance from the Basilica del Gran Poder, which locals absolutely pack during Holy Week, but somehow this hotel feels like its own little world. The building actually dates back to the 18th century (hence the name), and they’ve done this incredible job of keeping the original bones intact while making it genuinely comfortable. The ceilings are these gorgeous coffered affairs, and there’s this central courtyard that’s pure Andalusian magic – you’ll hear the fountain trickling at all hours, which is honestly perfect white noise for afternoon siestas.

What I really love is how the staff here gets that you’re probably going to be out exploring until late (because, let’s face it, that’s what you do in Seville), so they’re super flexible about things like storing luggage or helping you figure out which tapas bars are actually worth your time versus the tourist traps. The rooms vary quite a bit – some have those traditional wrought-iron balconies where you can people-watch over morning coffee, others face the interior courtyard which is dead quiet even when the city’s buzzing. Fair warning though: if you’re here during Semana Santa or the April Fair, book way ahead and expect some street noise during processions – but honestly, that’s part of the experience. The location is pretty brilliant for walking everywhere that matters. You’re maybe eight minutes to the Cathedral, five to the river, and there’s this tiny family-run olive shop around the corner that’s been there forever. Parking’s tough (it’s the old town, what do you expect?), but they can point you toward a decent garage about two blocks away.

Here’s the thing – this place has that 9.1 rating because it delivers on being authentically Sevillian without making you rough it. The breakfast spread is solid, the WiFi actually works, and the AC will save your life in summer. But more than that, it feels like staying in someone’s well-preserved family home rather than a corporate hotel. The staff knows the neighborhood like locals because most of them are, and they’ll steer you toward that perfect flamenco show or tell you which nights to avoid certain streets because of foot traffic. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town – it’s just trying to be the kind of place where you feel like you’re really experiencing Seville, not just visiting it.

  Excellent location. It is an oasis in the centre of Seville. The studios have all the necessary facilities, including even a washing machine. That was a pleasant suprise. The room was quiet, helping us to relax after a week of intensive walking. The staff was accomodating and helpful.
