You know what struck me first about Casa Sevilla 1855? It’s tucked right into this tiny plaza that most tourists completely miss – Plaza Cristo de Burgos – which honestly makes it feel like you’ve stumbled onto some local secret. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Seville’s old town, but the location is surprisingly quiet considering you can walk to the Cathedral in maybe five minutes. The building itself has this gorgeous restored 19th-century facade that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s vibe, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cared about preserving the character of the place rather than just slapping modern fixtures everywhere.

The suites are what really sold me though – they’ve managed to blend period details with actually functional amenities, which is harder to pull off than you’d think. High ceilings, original tile work in some rooms, but also proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer) and kitchenettes that are genuinely useful if you want to grab groceries from the Mercado del Arenal nearby. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too, something I’ve learned not to take for granted in these historic buildings. What I appreciated most was the attention to sound insulation – even though you’re right in the centro histórico, you’re not dealing with constant street noise or hearing every footstep from the room above. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good tapas spots that locals frequent, not just the obvious tourist traps around the corner.

Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re positioned perfectly to experience Seville the way it’s meant to be experienced, on foot and at your own pace. The narrow streets around the hotel are lined with those classic Sevillian buildings with their wrought-iron balconies and hidden courtyards, and honestly, just wandering around in the early evening when the light hits the ochre walls just right is worth the trip alone. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (like everywhere in the old town), but they’ll help you figure out the nearest garage, and once you’re settled, you really don’t need a car anyway. The Alcázar is practically around the corner, the Giralda tower is visible from some of the upper floor windows, and you’re close enough to the river that you can easily walk down for sunset views. It’s one of those places where the 8.8 rating actually makes sense – not flashy or trying too hard, just solid, well-located, and run by people who understand what travelers actually want when they’re exploring a city like Seville.

  The room was spacious and had everything you could need. It was beautifully decorated. The cleaning and reception staff were very nice and helpful. The location is lovely with a small square out the front with a playground.

  Perfect location, great bars nearby and everything in walking distance. Lovely building and apartment.
  Staff very kind and helpful. Clean with expected amenities. Smelled amazing, bed and pillows super comfy.
  
  What could be improved: We booked the courtyard view apartment- it is quite dark as there is very little natural light coming in, but we didn’t spend much time home in the day.

  Stylish apartment in beautifully renovated old building overlooking a lovely square. Easy walking distance to main attractions and near restaurants. Lovely comfortable bed with selection of pillows. Good communication beforehand from host company who arranged taxi to airport for early departure.
  
  What could be improved: Couple of issues with swollen front door (making initial access tricky) and getting heating to work but these were quickly sorted by phoning host company. An information book about how things worked in the apartment and restaurant recommendations would be helpful! As mentioned by several other reviewers, a full length mirror would be great. Quite pricey!

  Apartment was within walking distance from many things we wished to see and only 15 mins by car from the airport, very central!
  
  Myself and my partner loved our stay here and would 100% recommend it to anybody looking for somewhere to stay in Seville!
  
  What could be improved: The only thing was not having a window that had a view of outside, but we confirmed with the host previous to our trip that it would be the case due to booking a studio apartment.
