Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Casa Sevillana? It’s tucked into this tiny street in the old quarter where you’d never expect to find such a polished place. I mean, Virgen de la Luz is basically an alley – one of those narrow cobblestone paths where you can almost touch both buildings if you stretch your arms out. But that’s actually perfect because it means you’re literally steps from the Cathedral and Alcázar without dealing with the tourist chaos on the main drags. The building itself is this gorgeous converted mansion with one of those classic Andalusian courtyards that makes you want to just sit there with a book and forget about your itinerary.

The rooms are honestly what sold me on this place. They’ve got that perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort – the kind where you get beautiful tile work and wrought iron details, but also excellent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in July). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being right in the heart of everything. The thick walls do their job, and since the street is too narrow for cars, you don’t get that constant traffic noise you’d expect in a city center. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood inside and out too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this tiny tapas place around the corner on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would’ve found otherwise – and it ended up being one of my best meals in Seville.

Honestly, the 9.3 rating makes total sense once you stay here. It’s not trying to be some flashy resort or anything, but everything just works really well. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually worked throughout the building, and they have this lovely rooftop terrace where you can catch glimpses of the Giralda tower if you position yourself right. The location is what really sets it apart though – you can walk to Plaza Santa Cruz in about three minutes, hit up the main shopping street (Sierpes) in five, and you’re close enough to the river that evening strolls along the Guadalquivir become this easy, natural thing. Plus, being on such a small street means you feel like you’re discovering something special rather than just staying at another hotel in a tourist zone. I’d definitely come back, especially during the cooler months when you can really enjoy that courtyard and the walking becomes even more pleasant.

Roof deck was lovely, all the interior details were perfect, it was a great place to come home to once the days activities were done.

  • Saffiya from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (9/10)

Location was very good and requirements within the property were fully catered for to make it a very comfortable stay. The host was excellent and was on hand to answer any questions and offer assistance. It was a very spacious accommodation set over three floors. There was a roof terrace which was nice although it was too hot for us to use due to the high temperature. In terms of location it is around 12 minute walk from alcazar and the cathedral and there are supermarkets within a five minute walk.

  • Janet from United States – 9 January 2025 (10/10)

The house was perfect for the 4 of us and a baby. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They had stocked the house well with all of the essentials as well, often a problem at other places. The location was wonderful, quiet neighborhood but an easy walk every where. I would highly recommend this home.

  • Richard from United Kingdom – 17 September 2024 (9/10)

Beautifully renovated house just 10 or 15mins walk in to the main areas and 10 to 15mins walk from the train station too. Perfect. Everything walkable from here. The house was lovely. More like staying in someone's home than some we have stayed in and with lovely touches, beautiful marble staircase and air conditioning throughout. Great Rooftop with a range of seating…perfect for resting up and catching some sun in the day and sitting out for breakfast. Mark and Toni were the best hosts and when the telly broke they replaced it and even put a temporary replacement in place while they arranged the replacement. Exceptionally well equipped with washing machine and although we brought our own there was detergent etc as well as coffee and things in the cupboard.. Very homely.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Loreta from Australia – 28 April 2023 (10/10)

Having an entire house for 6 people plus great location.

What could be improved: Not having a second shower.

  • Melanie from United Kingdom – 13 October 2022 (10/10)

A beautiful townhouse in a quiet cul-de-sac but still within 10mins walk of all the main sights in Seville. We loved the traditional style of the house, with impressive entrance hall and fantastic marble staircase, but it also had all mod cons with fully fitted kitchen, modern bathroom, very good aircon and a huge roof terrace. The rooms were all good sizes, and very clean, and Toni provided everything you could possibly need including towels and toiletries. Toni was also really friendly and helpful, meeting us at the house and taking time to show us round, explain everything and even offer suggestions of places to visit, how to get there and marking them on a map.

What could be improved: I honestly can't think of anything.
