Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Casa Triana 1888 Suites, I was a bit skeptical. Another “boutique” hotel claiming to have character, you know? But walking up to this place on Calle Castilla, I actually stopped and did a double-take. The building has this gorgeous 19th-century facade that’s been restored without losing its soul – none of that sterile renovation nonsense you see everywhere.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep the historic charm while making everything work for modern travelers. The suites are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with these beautiful high ceilings and period details that feel authentic. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too – I ended up cooking a few meals with ingredients from the Mercado de Triana, which is just a pleasant five-minute walk away. Speaking of location, you’re right in the heart of Triana, which honestly is my favorite part of Seville. Forget the touristy areas across the river – this neighborhood has the best tapas bars, the most authentic flamenco, and locals who’ll actually chat with you instead of trying to sell you something.

The staff here gets it – they’re not overly formal but they know their stuff. When I mentioned I wanted to catch some live flamenco, the front desk guy (Miguel, I think?) didn’t just hand me a generic list. He told me which nights specific performers would be at Casa Anselma and warned me about the crowds at Tablao Los Gallos. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake. Parking was easier than I expected for this part of the city – there’s actually street parking nearby if you time it right, though the hotel can arrange a spot in a nearby garage. The rooms are quiet too, which surprised me given how lively the neighborhood gets in the evenings. The walls must be thick because I barely heard the street noise, even during the weekend when things get properly festive.

You know what really sealed it for me? On my last morning, I was sitting in the little courtyard area they have, drinking coffee and reading, when this elderly woman from the building next door leaned over her balcony and started chatting with me in broken English about the weather. That’s when I realized this place isn’t just dropped into the neighborhood – it’s actually part of it. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you stay here; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails what it’s going for. If you want to experience Seville like someone who lives here rather than just passes through, this is your spot.

  Love the style of the property and the location. It was beautifully clean. The terrace is gorgeous.

  The apartment is very clean, cozy and comfortable with everything you can need during your stay. The location is also very good – quiet but close to all important sightseeing.   Quirky property which has been furnished in a ‘vintage’ style in keeping with the building.
  Small unheated rooftop pool enabled ‘cooling down’ after sight seeing!!

  What could be improved: The only issue is the bedroom is located down two flights of stairs -therefore night trips to the bathroom were a bit difficult.

  The location was good. It was really close to river and there were a lot of facilities around the neighbourhood like restaurants, coffee shops and places to visit.

  Staff were very helpful and responsive, responded to messages quickly and were friendly. Apartment was very pleasant, spacious and comfortable. Stylish and attractive aesthetic. Range of pillows was impressive! Well located in a nice area.
  
  What could be improved: Would have benefitted from a little extra cleaning of the floors during the stay. A towel for drying dishes would have been useful but facilities otherwise good.
