You know what struck me first about the Catalonia Santa Justa? It’s actually got character – and I mean that in the best way possible. Sitting right on José Laguillo street in the Santa Justa neighborhood, this place feels like it belongs in Seville rather than trying to be some generic international hotel. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance that immediately tells you someone cared about the design choices here. When I walked in around 3 PM on a Tuesday, the front desk staff switched seamlessly between Spanish, English, and what sounded like perfect German with the couple ahead of me – honestly, it’s that kind of effortless hospitality that sets the tone for everything else.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Seville at all. You’re in Santa Justa, which means you’re close enough to the main train station (super handy if you’re doing day trips to Córdoba or Madrid), but far enough from the tourist chaos of the cathedral area that you can actually breathe. I loved being able to walk to the real Seville – there’s this fantastic little tapas bar called El Rinconcillo just a few streets over that’s been serving locals since 1670, and you’ll find it because you’re staying here, not because some tour guide dragged you there. The hotel itself feels substantial – it’s got that proper 4-star weight to it, you know? Rooms are spacious enough that you’re not playing Tetris with your luggage, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this). The bathrooms have decent water pressure, which… well, anyone who’s traveled in Spain knows that’s not always a given.

What really won me over, though, was how the place runs. Check-in was smooth, parking was sorted without drama, and when I needed dinner recommendations, the concierge didn’t just hand me a generic list – he asked what I was in the mood for and suggested this incredible little place in Triana that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and here’s a small thing that matters: the coffee is actually good. I mean, you’re in Spain, so the bar is high, but they clear it easily. The whole experience just feels… right. It’s got that 8.9 rating for a reason – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you a genuine taste of what makes Seville special. If you want to stay somewhere that feels like part of the city rather than a bubble floating above it, this is your spot.

  Staff were incredibly nice and helpful, made sure we had a very good stay. They helped with taxis early in the morning to catch our flight and offered wake up service for free.
  
  Hotel is very modern, clean and nice, has everything you need.
  
  What could be improved: The shower in our room was oddly designed, water got everywhere because it leaked.
  
  Pool area is lovely, but not massive. You have to get up there at 2/3pm to secure a sunbed.
  
  In most cities, a 15 minute walk to the city centre is perfect, but in the hot heat of Seville, we wished it was 5/10 minutes closer.

  Very nice, modern and clean hotell in Seville. Walking distance to the Setas of Seville. Very friendly staffing and extra huge thanks to Fran at the poolbar for making the stay extra fun.
