Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to Calle Pasaje de Vila 12, I was expecting just another decent apartment rental – but honestly, this penthouse completely changed my perspective on staying in Seville’s old town. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything historic, but once you climb up to this top-floor gem, it’s like you’ve got your own private slice of the city that tourists never see.
The terrace is where this place really shines – and I’m not just saying that because it’s in the name. Mornings up there with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up below, you get this perfect mix of local life and old-world architecture stretching out around you. The cathedral’s practically next door (you can actually hear the bells, which is either charming or annoying depending on how late you stayed out in Triana the night before), and you’re maybe a five-minute walk from Plaza del Salvador where locals grab their morning tostadas. What I loved is that you can duck back upstairs when the tourist crowds get thick around midday – having that private outdoor space in such a central location is honestly pretty rare for the price point.
The apartment itself feels thoughtfully put together rather than just functional. Someone clearly spent time on the details here, from the way they’ve arranged the living space to catch the light just right, to actually having decent water pressure in the shower (trust me, that’s not a given in these old buildings). The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab ingredients from the Mercado de la Encarnación – though honestly, with places like Bar Eslava and Casa Morales practically around the corner, I ended up cooking way less than I planned. One thing to note: the building’s old, so you’ll hear some street noise, especially on weekends when people are heading to the bars in Santa Cruz, but it dies down after midnight usually. Also, there’s no elevator, which might matter if you’re hauling heavy luggage or have mobility concerns – but the climb’s worth it for that rooftop view. The whole experience just feels more authentic than those sterile hotel chains, you know? You’re staying where actual sevillanos live and work, not in some tourist bubble.

The location is conveniently located to so much in Santa Cruz.

The apartment was an excellent central base for visiting the sites. It was clean and spacious. The terrace was really nice to have, although it needs something to shade it more from the direct sun. You could only use it early morning/late evening.
Beds and shower facilities all good.
Air conditioning good.
What could be improved: It can be a bit noisy during the night with street cleaners and bottle collections. But otherwise the surrounding streets are quietChris from United States – 1 July 2024 (9/10)

The location was excellent, clean and comfortable beds. The roof top terrace was a huge hit.
What could be improved: All the bedroom doors sqeak, could do with some wd40!Ann from United Kingdom – 22 August 2022 (9/10)
Fantastic location. The rooftop terrace was a wonderful addition. The building is characterful and charming. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. The aircon worked well which was a blessing in August.
What could be improved: Nothing would have improved our stay. The kitchen is very small but not something that bothered us. The spiral stairs might be tricky for some. 1 bathroom is next to the kitchen, again not a problem.
