Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Divi Apartments Martínez Montañés, tucked away on this narrow street in Seville’s old town, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building’s got that classic Andalusian facade that blends right into the neighborhood, which is actually perfect because you’re literally living like a local here. I mean, you step out the door and you’re already in the thick of it – the Cathedral’s practically around the corner, and you can hear the clip-clop of horse carriages from the tourist routes echoing off the stone streets at night.

What really got me was how quiet it stays inside despite being right in the heart of everything. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious (and thank god for that AC in August – you’ll need it), with these lovely touches that feel more like staying in someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. The kitchenettes are actually functional too, which matters when you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the little market on Calle Sierpes and have breakfast on your own terms. You know what’s smart about this place? They’ve kept the traditional Sevillian elements – the tiles, the ironwork – but everything actually works properly. I’ve stayed in plenty of “charming” old buildings where charm meant broken shower heads and sketchy wifi.

The staff here gets it – they’re not hovering around trying to upsell you constantly, but when you need restaurant recommendations or want to know when the Alcázar is least crowded (early morning, by the way), they actually know their stuff. Parking’s going to be your biggest headache honestly, but that’s true anywhere in this part of Seville – the streets were built for donkeys, not rental cars. I ended up using the public garage near Plaza del Duque, about a five-minute walk. The thing is, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anyway. Everything worth seeing is either walkable or a quick metro ride away, and there’s something magical about wandering back through those twisted medieval streets after a long day of cathedral-hopping and tapas-crawling. The neighborhood comes alive differently at night – less touristy, more authentic, with locals heading to their favorite bars and the smell of olive oil and garlic drifting from apartment windows. It’s exactly what you hope for when you picture staying in old Seville, just with reliable hot water and proper beds.

Excellent location, quiet and a little cool little cave amongst the hustle and bustle. Slept well as it was dark and cool.

What could be improved: Kitchen is decent but there is minimal cooking utensils and no oil etc. But it had the main dishes!

  • Sarah from United States – 11 November 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is good size, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space to put our luggage and clothing. Everything was clean upon our arrival and the apartment matched the pictures. The wifi was fast and reliable. The apartment was ideally located between a more local neighborhood and the more touristic part of town. Though it's on the ground level it's located inside a courtyard so it was very secure. I'd recommend for someone looking for a central, comfortable apartment, for a shorter stay in Seville.

What could be improved: The only window is on the main level so you really have to keep the curtain closed for privacy which means there is little to no natural light. Limited kitchen supplies so this wouldn't be great for a long stay. It's a bit damp in general because the apartment doesn't get much airflow so towels didn't ever dry completely.

  • Sandra from Malta – 11 October 2024 (9/10)

Loved the apartment…all you need for a short break – close to all amenities

  • Louisa from United Kingdom – 28 May 2024 (8/10)

Location was brilliant right in the centre of the old town but so peaceful . Roof terrace a nice outdoor space. Showers really powerful

What could be improved: Only bathroom on the main floor was off the main bedroom so everyone had to walk through bedroom to use the bathroom . Place a little tired in places needs a little TLC
    No English tv

  • Anthony from Spain – 26 March 2024 (9/10)

    Perfect location

  • Paul from Australia – 22 January 2024 (9/10)

Location was great, unit was clean and comfortable

What could be improved: The street getting to the unit was not the best, the uneven cobble stones made it particularly difficult when pulling large suit cases

  • Cash from Australia – 4 October 2023 (7/10)

Great location , good sized apartment with most of what you need for a few days stay. Nicely decorated and very clean.

What could be improved: Sadly the building is acoustically bad, you can hear anyone entering and exiting their apartments, going up and down stairs and through the front gate and door – everything bangs loudly and talking echoes. We were unfortunate to have two loud groups during our stay who were Loud unto 3.30 am then made lots of noise in the morning from 5.30 am. We hardly slept the whole week, even with earplugs.no street noise though 🙂

  • Ilhana from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 1 July 2023 (9/10)

Everything. Super clean. Great locality. Walking distance to ewerywhere we needed to go. (to the setas de sevilla, shoping area…) I would definitely return to same apartment😊

    What could be improved: –

  • Souhail from Morocco – 8 May 2023 (9/10)

    location, amnesties, host

  • Stuart from Canada – 1 May 2023 (9/10)

It's a bit tricky to find the location as it is right in the core of old town. There is an underground city parking a couple of blocks away. The host did an excellent job of communicating. The process is a bit complex as there is an outside door, an inside door, then the apartment door to navigate entry codes and keys. And same going out. But the host provided instructions with photos that was very helpful and appreciated.

What could be improved: You could probably provide more details on where the buttons are to open the cage doors. Both going in and coming out. I recognize that there are signs but until the guest finds them it's a bit confusing. (Especially the first time if we are in a hurry to get out and tour)
