The Duque Cornejo Suite Apartment is… well, it’s actually the opposite of all that. When I first walked down Calle Duque Cornejo – which is this narrow little street that somehow manages to stay relatively quiet despite being smack in the heart of everything – I wasn’t expecting much. The entrance is pretty understated, but once you get inside, you realize this place gets what travelers actually want.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Sevillian home rather than a sterile hotel room. I mean, there’s actual space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase for a week. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which is clutch if you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the market nearby and have a proper breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. You know what really got me though? The little details – the way the afternoon light filters through those traditional shutters, how quiet it stays even when the streets are buzzing with tourists heading to the cathedral. And speaking of the cathedral, you can practically roll out of bed and be there in five minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic on the main drags.

Here’s the thing about this part of Seville – it’s all about location, but it’s also about finding a place that doesn’t make you feel like you’re camping in a shoebox. The Duque Cornejo nails both. You’re walking distance from everything that matters (the Alcázar, Plaza de Armas, all those winding streets in Santa Cruz), but you’re on a street that locals actually use, not some tourist corridor. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering around a tiny lobby with your luggage while someone else figures out their room key situation. Parking is always going to be interesting in this part of town, but they actually help you figure it out instead of just shrugging and pointing vaguely toward the street. The 9.8 rating makes sense when you stay here – it’s not trying to be some flashy boutique hotel, it’s just doing everything right without making a big deal about it. If you want to feel like you’re living in Seville for a few days instead of just passing through, this is the kind of place that makes that happen.
