Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and El Refugio on Calle Veleta is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret. You know what I mean? It’s tucked away in this quiet residential street that most tourists never stumble across, but here’s the thing – you’re actually closer to the real Seville than if you’d booked one of those flashy places near the Cathedral. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll hear actual Spanish conversations drifting from balconies, not just other travelers asking where the nearest Starbucks is.

The hotel itself feels like someone’s elegant aunt decided to open her home to guests – and I mean that in the best possible way. The lobby has these worn leather chairs that are probably older than me but somehow still perfectly comfortable, and there’s always this faint scent of jasmine coming from the courtyard. Actually, let me tell you about that courtyard because it’s where I spent most of my mornings with coffee. It’s small, sort of intimate, with tiles that catch the light just right around 8 AM. The staff here – and this is rare – actually remember your name after the first night. Miguel at the front desk knows the city like the back of his hand and will steer you toward places that aren’t in guidebooks. He told me about this tiny tapas bar three blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really got me though was how quiet it stays at night. Calle Veleta doesn’t get the foot traffic of the main tourist drags, so you can actually sleep with your windows open and just hear the occasional motorbike or late-night conversation. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – nothing revolutionary, but everything works and the beds are honestly perfect. Good water pressure in the shower too, which matters more than people admit. The only tiny gripe I have is that the elevator is one of those old-school European ones that fits maybe two people and a small suitcase, but honestly, it adds character. Plus, if you’re on the third floor like I was, the walk up gives you a better sense of the building’s bones – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of architecture that keeps things cool even when Seville gets brutally hot in summer. I went in October and the weather was ideal, but Miguel mentioned they get a lot of repeat visitors who specifically book for those scorching July weeks because the building stays naturally cool. That’s the kind of detail that makes a difference when you’re planning a trip.

  Finca completamente reformada y nueva, tanto interior como exterior. Se encuentra en el interior de una urb. Privada. La casa cuenta con 4 dormitorios (dos con camas de matrimonio y dos con camas dobles), todas las habitaciones tienen armario y spit de aire acondicionado frio/calor.
  Dos baños completos en el interior de la casa (uno de ellos en suit) y otro baño, también completo, en el exterior de la vivienda, que viene muy bien para su acceso desde la piscina.
  La cocina es abierta, con una gran península y todas las comodidades (horno, lavabajillas, frigorífico, tostadora, microondas) todas nuevas, junto con el menaje completo. La cocina está abierta al salón y este es enorme, cómodo, funcional y acogedor. Con dos amplios sofás frente a la tele y la chimenea y en el lateral una amplia mesa de madera con sillas muy cómodas para 10 personas.
  En la parte exterior tiene sitio suficiente para aparcar 5 o 6 vehículos en la parte delantera y una amplia zona de disfrute junto a una espectacular piscina en la parte trasera. Dispone de porche con barbacoa junto a esta última.
  Por último su dueño Manuel es una persona atenta y servicial, que se preocupa del más mínimo detalle y de la comodidad de las personas que visitan la casa.
  En la finca hay un juego de toallas limpias por persona y todo lo necesario en los baños.
  Ha sido un placer poder disfrutar de la estancia y es un lugar maravilloso para pasar el tiempo con familia y amigos disfrutando, en un entorno tranquilo y relajante. Sin dudas uno de nuestros favoritos que visitaremos más pronto que tarde.

  El alojamiento estaba en muy buena zona de sevilla, estando a tan solo 20 minutos del centro, en una zona residencial privada en la cual te sentias muy seguro. En cuanto a la casa, una pasada. Era perfecta para lo que buscaba con mis amigos, que era pasárnoslo bien

  Manuel es muy amable y nos trato súper bien. La casa es muy bonita y acogedora. A mi se me olvidó la plancha de pelo y Manuel me la envió sin ningún problema a mi casa.
